How do you guys do it?

I have been smoking singles of different brands for about two months now and am ready to purchase my first full box of Rocky's.

Yeah, I like the Rocky Sun Grown Stogies.

My question is, how do you guys fit smokes into your budgets?

At two sticks a day I'm not looking at about $400.00 a month.

Do many of you smoke the grab bag specials and save the good stuff for only special occasions?

Being retired I would hate to have to go back to work just to enjoy my new passion

I smoke quite a bit and I smoke alot of cheaper smokes during the week. Most of the cheaper smokes I have are right in my flavor profile that I like. Look into Flor De Olivs, and most of the 2nds cigars that are out there. Lots of good ways to spend less for a great smoke.

I usually save most of my premiums for the weekend or when i need a real good smoke. But for the most part you can find deals all over the internet for alot of real good smokes

You can smoke for a week for the price of a couple of decent cigars.

I just started smoking cigars regularly also. I tried a bunch of sampler's then I bought some cheapy bundles that I researched on this site. Some i like more than the others. I think half the fun is trying to find a good cheap cigar. I know that the only way I'm going to be able to smoke everyday or two is find 1-2 dollars cigars that I like. Well my new 100ct humidor is now overflowing with mostly cigars I like and the ones I don't like I'm letting them sit for a time to see if they get better with some rest

I second the Pipe; I have been smoking pipes almost exclusively for about a year now. Not just the cost, but I can smoke a pipe in my truck on the way to work without the stogie smell, and with getting married; I don’t smoke in our house like I did in my trailer. Also won’t smoke around our child, unless we are out side. You can get a good pipe or two for less than a box of decent smokes, and tobacco is around $8 for 2oz which will last me a couple of weeks to a month, depending on whether.

I really like their stuff, some is still under a buck.

Yeah, look for the deals!

I went in and bought my first box for retail, then I found out that retail is for saps and I could have gotten the same thing on cigarbid.com for ~$40 (33%) cheaper with a little patience.

I'd say take your time exploring what you like, and keep a reserve of liquid cash to jump on deals when you see them. You'll see a lot of great deals pop up on the daily deals places as acesfull mentioned, and you will also find some great deals from other forum members. Also this guy Rob from a shop in texas (taboo cigars/town and country cigar) sometimes pops on here with some great discount codes.

Also, CI sells rp seconds under "code names" and somewhere on this site there is a list of which is which. One of them is the sungrown.

I second this. I smoke very few during the week. This way I can smoke the ones I want to and pretty much not go broke. It's best this way for me and my budget....or lack there of.

I do smoke tobacco pipes, but I would not answer a cigar question
by telling you to smoke a pipe.

In order to stick to my budget, I've made the choice to smoke a few quality cigars a week instead of smoking several cheapos every day. To keep the cost down, try smoking seconds, purchasing bundles and boxes at a time, and stick to the discount websites (cbid, etc.).

Bundles of the 6x60's are around $75 and the price goes down from there, just no fancy box (it's kinda harsh anyway)
This is the cheapest place I have found for these, plus they are good folks to deal with.
