Re: GrayCliff Cigars?
I got a 1666 in a sampler pack and found it was good for sticking in the gopher hole to drive the critter away from my garden. Have not tried the others yet but do have a 5pack of crystals coming.

Re: GrayCliff Cigars?
I have tried several Graycliffs - the original (red label), professionale (blue label), crystal (white label), espresso (black label), Chateau Grand Cru (purple label) and 1666. The Chateau Grand Cru is in my top five cigars ever (I especially like the salomon). I wasn't impressed with the crystal - the flavor wasn't that great and the draw was so tight I had to labor to smoke it. The original and professionale are good smokes, but grossly overpriced. I expected more from the espresso than I got. The 1666 is a middle-of-the-road smoke, the only one not made at the hotel in the Bahamas. Consequently you see them stuck in a lot of samplers on CI and you can pick them up at substantial discounts if you shop around. It is a Graycliff in name only.
To answer your question, generally I would say that Graycliffs are good cigars. Their price point is unrealistic (if not downright delusional), IMO, given that there are many less expensive smokes out there that deliver just as much or more. The only one of the lot I would come close to paying full retail for is the Chateau Grand Cru - in my book the best stick Graycliff makes. |

Re: GrayCliff Cigars?
I enjoyed the Blue Professionale because I got it for $5 per stick. THe 1666 is an expensive yard gar.Not worth the MSRP IMO. Try C-bid.

Re: GrayCliff Cigars?
The 1666 is actually pretty good only AFTER at least a year of age. Just FYI.
I have yet to try the other ones because the price is so high and I wasn't very impressed with the 1666 at first. I think I have one of the Red, Blue, and Black labels, though (all from bombs/trades). They are all like $15/stick at the nice B&M about an hour away. |

Re: GrayCliff Cigars?
The only ones I like are the DE, but they are GREAT...but I never buy them at MSRP...
