Question So explain this deal from CI to me (too good to be true?)

So just flipping through my new catalog and they have a big spread on Padilla and the most expensive are Signature 1932 - $269 for a box of 25 robustos.

However, on the same page, they have this deal:
  • 4 Padilla Signature 1932 Robustos
  • 4 Padilla Series '68 Robustos
  • 4 Padilla 1948 Robustos
  • Price: $40
So if you get 6 of those samplers, you would get 24 of the Signature 1932's (1 short of a box) for $249 (including shipping), plus they throw in a 3-cigar sampler (1666 GrayCliff, 5 Vegas Classic, El Mejor Emerald) for orders over $100. So by giving up buying the 1932's as a box of 25, you:
  • Spend $20 less
  • Get 24 Series 1968 Robustos
  • Get 24 1948 Robustos
  • 3-cgar sampler (which you would get with any order over $100)
Am I missing something here?

The box price Padilla 1932 is one of those that I think is inflated to make the samplers seem like a steal (See also: Ghurka, Gracliff 1666, etc.).

*Great* cigars though.

Re: So explain this deal from CI to me (too good to be true?)

I picked up this sampler when it was the weekly deal a short time ago. I just had my first cigar from it last night (a '68 robusto) and thought it was great! At 29.99 with free shipping this was a steal of a deal! At this point, I wish I would have ordered more than 1, but it's my first foray into the padilla field so I didn't want to get carried away. I can't wait to have my first 1932.

The 68 seems to be manys first smoke out of this sampler. Was mine too. Smoked okay. I would definitly prefer the 32 over it anyday

you dont seem to be missing anything, not familiar wiht box price for 32s but they aint cheap and you get all the other cigars for that same price
I got the $29 sampler and started with the 48 then the 68, thought the 48 was better but will see what they taste like again, havent tried the 32 yet

Yep,,,,the 32's are a bit more expensive and a better cigar in my opinion. They can be had on CBID for quite a bit less than sticker. I have seen them go for $127 for a box of churchills. The last one I got about a year ago went for $140 and they are still marinating.
