Ok so I get a call from my landlord today, informing me that that my neighbor has called twice now complaining of smoke coming from my back yard. Thats right, I rent a house, in a neighborhood, I have a decent size yard, with a fence, and high bushes so that you can't even see the houses around me, and I get a call saying one of the neighbors has complained about ME smoking in MY backyard!!! They dont even have the balls to come over themselves. They have to call my landlord, about smoking in MY BACKYARD!!! Needless to say Im a little fired up!

If you are paying rent and there is no agreement in the lease that says you cannot smoke in your back yard and its not against any city/state ordinances to smoke in your back yard... fire it up!

So did your landlord tell you not to smoke back there? If not, I wouldn't worry about it and he should have told them that there wasn't anything he could do about it.

Damn that sucks. For the most part I think that you should be able to smoke in your backyard. I am sure the rude neighbors just do not like the smell.

Gotta love neighbors! Mine dont bitch about my smoke, music, motorcycles reving at 2am or my dogs barking. Why? cause i have the dirt on em!! The little old indian gal next to me that lives off my tax dollar smokes dope on her front porch...I know cause i caught her at midnight a few years ago. She didnt know me and the wife were on our porch. I could smell pot so I walked around the corner and there the lil 75 year old lady sat with a pipe in her hand. So i know for a fact that she wouldnt complain.

I actually have skunk pee in an aresol can!! My dad was a big trapper back in the day. Spray this in an open window or fresh air intake and sit back and enjoy. My personal favorite is spraying it in the vents of a car.....you will never ever get the smell out.

Love the responses! No the landlord definitely didnt tell me to stop. She can't, the only thing in the lease is no smoking in the house, which I dont do anyway. i'm definitely not going to stop either. Just upset he couldn't be a man about it and talk to me directly.

Good luck, i hate neighbors.
my neighbor went to the city council about my tree leaves in his yard. even though he has 2 trees of his own he claimed my leaves were destroying his property value and were a nuisance to the community.

youd have to really piss me off in order for me to use that stuff. I wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy! Its kinda like a nuke....last resort type thing. FYI did you know skunks hate their smell worse than we do? They absolutely will not spray unless they are scared silly. When I was a kid we caught a female skunk in a live trap (cage) and she had 3 babies with her. My dad opened the cage and pulled a baby out without getting sprayed!! Ill never forget that. We had the baby fixed and he became a pet. Awsome pets. Until you piss it off and he either claws you or bites you. They are kinda like a cat. Lay around in the sun alot. Really freaked people out when you open your front door and a skunk walks out.
