What to do with the 25 Thompson Cigars that came with my humi?

Hi,
I am new to cigars as I just got turned on to smoking them by a family friend who works for Rocky Patel. I got started by picking up a humi from Thompson and it came with 25 house brand cigars. They are taking up half of my humi and I don't know what to do with them. I will smoke one tonight to see how bad they are but otherwise I don't know what to do with them. I don't want to throw them away but I have heard bad things about them. I wont be getting another humi until I can find time to go to my friends house and I have some nice sticks coming in. You guys have any recommendations? Or are they really not that bad.

I was thinking about sending the troops some better sticks. I was waiting to finish sampling and start buying boxes so I can siphon a few sticks from each to send off, but if they wont mind these sticks I will send them. I guess I should try one of each of the 5 packs they sent me first. Is there a minimum that I can package together to send off to the troops. Maybe I need to check out the Cigars on the move section.

Try them out and if you don't like them send them off to our troops! They will be more then happy to receive them.

Use them for mulch. Actually, they probably arent even good enough to use as mulch.
All kidding aside, you might as well try one. Although in my estimation, Thompson's house brand doesn't have a bad rap for no reason...

I can appreciate that but imagine if you woke up at the butt crack of dawn, put on your cleanest dusty clothes and spent the day sweating, fighting and helping a bunch of ingrates who would rather see your head lopped off rather than thank you for protecting a better way of life, you'd be more than happy to sit down and relax with a cigar whether premium or not. I'd send them and in the future, if you get a more respected batch in, pick out a few and send them as well. These troops, when they signed up for the armed forces, they signed a check made out to the USA for an amount up to and including their lives. Let's thank them for that.

Re: What to do with the 25 Thompson Cigars that came with my humi?

Before I knew any better, I bought 100 of their various house blends. It depends on which ones you get. It's not that these are horrible, they're just incredibly bland and boring, which makes them perfect for doing yard work, fishing, or any other situation when you would like to burn one without really paying much attention to it. If you drop it in the lake or in front of the mower, you won't be too upset about it.

The La Condessas, on the other hand, were truly vile.

Re: What to do with the 25 Thompson Cigars that came with my humi?

I am going to write to my friends in the Marines and see if they would like to receive some cigars. I was looking to pick up a box of Oliva Serie Vs and send some to my friend at Camp Pendleton to take with him when he ships out next. I figure I might as well try one of each of the 5 packs they sent me. I will take one out with me to play golf tomorrow and see how it is. Otherwise I could place them in a tupedor until I can figure out where to send them so the troops can have them. Damn you cbid!!!

I've smoked a few of their house brands while shoveling snow and they are not bad if you like the taste of mud.

Mulch sounds like a good idea. I decided to try some infusion experiments with mine and let them sit in a cheap humi with a replenishing supply of Grants. They didnt' taste half bad after 3 months, but I couldn't get them to stop splitting, so they became...decorations in my recording studio.
