What do you value most about Club Stogie?

Another thread ........... Is this the non-snob cigar chat?..........got me thinking about how much I appreciate CS, and just what is it that I like most here. There are so many things here that bring me back day after day. I have visited and joined a few other cigar boards, but they just don't fit in with my philosophy about cigar boards. Frankly, some of them disgust me.
.
I have come to the conclusion that what I value most about Club Stogie is that we have evolved as a group from the lower mammals, we no longer eat our young.

The willingness of the members to help with whatever one may need.

I know 95% of the guys here would give the shirt off their back if someone needed it, and with that many people with the same mentality, nothing but great relationships can come from it.

That is the first thing I noticed when I joined. This group is good people. I also value the knowledge I have gained in my short time here.

Good call Todd, one of the first things that I witnessed here was an overwhelming response to a terrible tragedy. Watching the members here rally around other members that were going thru a tough time was truly something that I wanted to be a part of. The cigar knowledge is great, don't get me wrong, but if it were only cigar knowledge I was after, I could go read or join other forums. It sounds stupid, but I'm a very "team oriented" person, and I think I've found a great group of guys here at CS that have obviously formed a pretty strong team.

Pretty much what everyone else said.
Two specific things about the people: generosity and knowledge.

Seriously - I looked into some other sites - joined another one - but CS has been very friendly and inviting - and that says a ton for the type of members here.

Re: What do you value most about Club Stogie?

One of the things I value the most about the jungle is the great job done by the moderators of the forums. They manage to balance the need to allow individuals to express themselves freely against the need to maintain a respectful and civilized environment. Not always an easy task.

The result, to put it in a nutshell, "Less feces thrown."

Re: What do you value most about Club Stogie?

the sense of community. At times this site feels more like a physical place than a web address. And like a "real" community the sense that the members here care about each other keeps people coming back

Re: What do you value most about Club Stogie?

I value the attitude of CS members. Everyone is welcoming and helpful to members both new and old. Arguments and disagreements will flare occasionally, but cooler heads prevail here. It's nice to not worry about stepping on a landmine everytime you post.

The members are what makes this forum. Although I'm fairly new to cigars and culture, I feel my input and commentary is respected. I didn't get that with other forums either.

Thanks for making this so enjoyable. I look forward to meeting fellow BOTLs in the future.

Dan
