Re: cigarbid packing?

I got my first shipment from them a few weeks ago. Two five packs of the legends series perdomo and the RP connecticut. They were packed reasonably well with two air pillows and they were in zip-lock bags. No damage to any of the cigars so I can't complain.

Re: cigarbid packing?

I was actually pretty surprised with the low quality of the shipping. Every other time I've ordered from them the shipping wasn't the best, but nothing was damaged. I gave them a closer inspection earlier and some of them have cracks and splits on the wrapper by the band too so I'm thinking the poor shipping isn't the only reason for damage. I emailed customer service today, so we'll see how they handle it. Thanks for the help by the way, what an overwhelming response!

Please keep us up dated on how they handle the situation. If there is resistance you could refer them to this post showing that your not the only one with problems, good luck.

Now I don't want to make a stink over a 10$ pack of cigars but I was pretty disappointed. I lit one of the less damaged ones on the way to work this morning and it burnt all crazy and had no resistance on the draw whatsoever. Not really much I can do with the others but I'd definitely be hesitant to purchase anything thats more then a few bucks in the future. Surely the deals are good, but not if they're unsmokable.

Why haven't you gotten the damaged cigars replaced? I am sure cbid would be eager to make this right. I recieved a 5 pack of sticks once that I paid $11 for (Gurkha Symhpony I believe). They were spotty and lumpy, and just didn't look right. After 1 email to customer service, I had a phone call from a rep apologizing for the stogies that afternoon, and a replacement 5 pack was shipped out immediately. Sure cbid skimps on the packing materials, but that doesn't mean that it's YOUR problem if the sticks show up damaged.

Re: cigarbid packing?

Well, my shipment from C-Bid came yesterday. I am more than pleased with the packaging and condition of my sticks. My shipment was for a 5 pack of Gurkha Gold Collector's Edition #4. (that I got for $7.00) Each cigar was wrapped in the original Cellophane. Then the 5 pack bundle was double shrink wrapped, placed in a Priority Mail Flat rate box along with 4 air pillows and the invoice. I can't wait to take a pull on one of these.

Any time there is an issue with packaging or shipping damage you should contact the shipper. I'm sure that C-Bid will do what ever they can to make you happy.

Re: cigarbid packing?

I've had problems with cigarbid packaging on many occasions, and received damaged cigars a number of times. Sometimes it has been just horrible. I actually don't buy there anymore, I just got too sick of it.

Re: cigarbid packing?

just stick to buying boxes
the extra protection from the cedar usually works out... only received damaged sticks once from a 5er

Re: cigarbid packing?

I sent CBid a link to this post as I'm sure they'd like to know whats up.

Another thing to consider.

I'm sure all of us have picked a single stick out of a box, noticed maybe a split foot or cracked wrapper, replaced it and purchased another. Any chance these 5 packs are comprised of the last couple sticks in each box that go unpurchased?

Re: cigarbid packing?

I buy nothing but 5 packs, singles, and samplers (never boxes). Most of the time I buy from cbid, other times from CI, famous, and Taboo. And while Taboo has the best shipping practices BY FAR, I've never actually recieved a cigar damaged by shipping. Maybe my UPS/USPS carriers are a little more gentle than the rest? I probably get in 1 to 2 packages a month, with anywhere from 10 to 30 cigars in at a time. I know some people get in a lot more than that, so their chances of receiving a damaged stick are higher, but I'm still surprised at the number of responses saying they've received damaged cigars. I would be pissed!

Re: cigarbid packing?

Here is this deal tho, Cbid/CI customer service will always make it right. The one time I had to get my damaged sticks replaced they had the replacements on the way that same day and all was well. I called them in a Wednesday and on Friday the new sticks were at my house.

Re: cigarbid packing?

Update: I recieved this message from cigarbid today

I’m sorry that you’re not happy with the condition of the Puros Indios cigars. I’m sending you a replacement today, along with a return UPS label. Please wrap up the original box and place the return label on the outside of the package and return it us. There will be instructions on the back of the label on how to return them to us.

I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

As you guys said, they will make it right! It's good to know that their customer service will stand behind their products. A small inconvenience, but a small price to pay for fresh smokes!

Glad they took care of you. Makes me happy to know if I ever had a similar problem that they will take care of. Nice to see a company that backs up a product/service.

I just got my first box from cbid and it had been beat up pretty bad. Entire side was crushed in about a 1/2" but all 60 cigars seemed to have made it ok
Sounds like a Postal Service issue - and a testament to CBid's packing that the package could have taken that much abuse and your sticks were still intact.
