I have about 13 left of the last box of Figurados I bought just before the S-Chip tax took effect.

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

Yeah, count me in! I've been smoking a lot of the Fig's lately. Great construction and flavor. At 8 bucks at my local, they're a little salty, but I don't think I'm ready to go box on these yet.

I had one not too long ago, I thought it was a very good cigar. I'll be picking up more in the future for sure

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

I have to be the opposite side of the coin. I've tried nearly every Oliva line out there more than once and have not been impressed with any outside of the Master Blends 3, which I really liked. The V's, O's, and G's all just taste so simply generic to me. In no way is an Oliva V a Padron 1964 substitute. If you want a '64 substitute the closest you'll probably get is a Padron 4000, and it's still not the same obviously.

Not trying to be the negative Nancy here. I just could never get all the Oliva love I see. They are OK by my standards, but not great nor unique. And I've had cheap sticks at ~$4 that were far more unique. Sorry to be the one downer here

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

Just goes to show that there are a wide variety of tastes here. There's probably not one cigar that is everone's ideal of taste.

A big fan of the Lancero, myself. Only problem with those is that due to the size, they are packed 36 to a box. Which makes it more than a little pricey.

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

1st time I smoke a Series V a couple of years ago - it knocked my newb palette around where I almost lost my dinner but a couple of years later - I tried it again and fell in love. Easily in my top 5 - just not for the newb with the amount of power & flavor involved - tasty indeed. Split a couple of boxes with a friend recently, along with my other fav - La Flor's Ligero Cabinet - those are 2 great smokes to keep plenty of in the humidor.

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

V is sooooooooo good!!! You should also try the G maduro Churchill... @ $4.29 it's a no-brainer!!!

It's JMO, but... Oliva, pound for pound, $$$ for quality, makes the best stuff out there. The ratings for them say the same. If you a ratings person, which I'm not.

Does the G Maduro have a similar strength and spice profile to it like the V?
