Had my first Oliva V today...

I went to the local shop to pick up a Padron 64 Maduro (just one) for the fourth of July, and was talking with guy that generally works there... I was telling him how I need to find a smoke that can satisfy me from the times I can't afford the 64's.... He and a patron of the store suggested the Oliva V....

While I cannot say it's in the same caliber as a Padron, What a darn good smoke!!! It was very sweet, smooth, tasty, and spicy!!! WOW

Anyone else here a fan of these cigars?

It's amazing how quickly a palate can change... Don't get me wrong, I still have the sweet tooth, but definetly liking the strength to go along with the sweetness!!!

The only one I like is the lancero. If your shop has these I would recommend trying it.

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

I really enjoy the Oliva V too! I've only had the torpedo and the figurado so far. I'm gonna look to try the other ones too. For me, those two sizes were just too much to smoke for some reason. I'm sure I'd be okay if I had the belicoso or the double robusto. I also have 2 Oliva V Maduro's I got from Shawn (ssutton?) that I'm saving for a little while.

It's a great smoke!

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

After the LFD Double Ligero, The Oliva Serie V is my second favorite. As a matter of fact I would smoke the V before the Padron.

I would love a box of the figs. They are a damned fine smoke.

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

The V's are a great smoke. I have had the belicoso and robusto a few times before, and right now I have a couple of churchills resting in the humi. I'm almost a little scared of the churchills, that's a lot of nicotine! Haha, I'm saving them for a nice occasion where my gf and I can smoke them together.

Re: Had my first Oliva V today...

The series V is always consistent and always a good everyday cigar to me. The price is probably what puts it into the "really good" category. For me, it tastes a little bit too much like the Rocky Patel Edge though.
