While the cigars are in the freezer, clean your humidor with a vacuum. Leave it empty and open for at least a week. The beetles will die without its food source, the tobacco.

Re: This isn't a beelte, right? Right?

In the 23+ years I've collected and smoked cigars, I've found the tell-tale sign of beetles twice. Both times were single cigars. All other cigars in the box (other singles) were frozen, the box was cleaned, and never had further problems.

Just for reference, how long to freeze and.....when you thaw, how are the sticks after thawing? And how long does it take? Does the freeze/thaw cycle cause any damage? Do the sticks taste 'normal.' Just curious.

No luck.

The others are in the freezer. Still not convinced it was a beetle, scares me to think they could hatch in my office, which rarely gets above 70 degrees

Thanks all for your responses!
I am with the majority here. Freeze the cigars and clean out the humi as suggested. There are always exceptions, I've heard beetles hatching in Vinotemps too! This maybe a case of taking a cigar home that already had a beetle in it! Best of luck.

That's the case about 99% of the time.
