different taste/ different vitolas my father

im smoking a my father #1 as we speak (sorry no pics im at a cigar bar) and the taste is completely different from the my father lancero that i smoked last night... this smoke has nutty, sweet, faint pepper and leathery tastes while the lancero i had last night was dominated by a cedary taste... this is by far the biggest difference in tastes in vitolas that ive ever tasted, its like smoking a totally different cigar... im pleasantly suprised, both smokes are great (i happen to like the robusto (no.1) better but theyre both great...anyone else experience this? other cigars that u taste a drastic difference between vitolas? thanks

Ben, I taste a difference when I change vitolas from most lines. I think the reason why is the wrapper to binder to filler ratio. With a smaller rg cigar you are getting more flavor from the wrapper than with a larger RG.

Different vitolas definitely vary in flavour, but so do cigars of the same vitola. I've smoked 2 of the same cigar back to back and was surprised how different they were.
