I do just the opposite. I blow retrohale about 1/3-1/2 of the smoke, then exhale the rest through my mouth. I do it like this because it allows more control over how much is retrohaled (or at least it seems that way)

I have never blew smoke out of my nose until this past year. It really has opened up my experience to more flavors that cigars have to offer. Your first few cigars will burn a bit, start with a milder cigar. My first was a 5 Vegas gold that I retrohailed.

I remember when one of my buddies retrohailed his first opus x , he didnt like that

My Dad taught me this when we first started smoking, he said that it worked really well for pot in his younger days and when he smoked cigars on the few occasions before I was born he would do that too. But, since I started smoking cigars as a hobby and whatnot he smokes as much as I do. It is a great way to pick up all kinds of flavor from your smokes that you can't get just on the palate.

I have always smoked this way, for almost forty years. No "nose health" problems, and as far as I can tell I can smell and taste anything everyone else can. That said, smell and tasting ability decline as age increases, requiring stonger and spicier food and cigars.
