This guys calls in retrohailing

So I found this guy on You Tube. His name is Docstogiefresh. He seems to have some good info for new cigar smokers. He's kinda fun to watch too.
The vid that I found informative is on what he calls retrohailing. basically opening your throat, and pushing the smoke out your nose to pick up more flavor. I thought that other new fish may like to see and try this. It has definatly changed the flavors that I pick up when I smoke. Check him out!!!

Not sure how to put the video in the thread so heres the link...

"Snorking" is the best thing any cigar smoker can learn to do, especially those who smoke Habanos. It opens up a whole new dimension of flavors.

Re: This guys calls in retrohailing

I recently watched that exact vid and have been experimenting with it....I have found that I have to blow most of the smoke out of my mouth or I burn the crap out of the inside of my nose. My question is does this sensation go away with time or am I just smoking young cigars that need a rest?

Most non-Cuban cigars will burn your sinuses right off in my experience if you do it with a lot of smoke. While you do get used to some of the burn, you'll never really be able to do a whole puff, and wouldn't really want to (tastes wierd to me). I do 80% out the mouth, 20% out the nose with all my cigars, or 70-30 at most. I'm all about the nose in smoking - I French-inhale most puffs too.

Re: This guys calls in retrohailing

I just finished a Leoninos and only burnt my nose like twice and snorked about the whole thing. Like previously stated the trick is a 80/20 mix of smoke and you really get a great smoking and flavor experience!

Re: This guys calls in retrohailing

Exhaling thru the nose has been going on since tobacco was first burned. Every ex cigarette smoker knows how to do it. I exhale thru the nose all the smoke all the time, just the way I smoke. If a cigar wrapper doesn't sting the lips, and the smoke doesn't burn the nose, I am not interested in it. Smoke mostly Tats.

My nose is sensitive to smoke but I have found that if I exhale most of the smoke then blow it out my nose, it works out rather nicely.

Any noticeable decline in flavor/general nose health after that. I tend to like to smoke through the nose as well, only have to stop myself from strictly doing for the whole cigar as i'm worried about chairing my nose tasters. how much snorkeling is too much?

Added you tube for you. The code is in between the quotations and leave out the space in youtube as it is one word. . "[y outube]dMcDOSypco8[/y outube]" the dMcDOSypco8 is after the equal sign in the original url.

This is the technique that got me actually appreciating cigars. Before that they always sortof seemed one-dimensional to me.

I just snorked my glass of milk.

It's the only way to go!

Uh, with cigars.

Milk, not so much!
