I don't see the need to be dishonest about my cigar purchases. Any decent relationship is based on mutual trust, honesty, and respect.

On the other hand, I don't see any need to be gratuitously honest, either.

I wish our wives could get together, so mine could put my 1-2 per day habit in better perspective.
Of course I'm on a prety steady cuban diet myself, so it's still not exactly cheap...

My wife looks in my Humi and says, "Hey you are running low are you going to order some more." She is a keeper. I usually order $30.00 at a time so maybe 60.00 a month at the most. I do a lot of box splits with the guys at work so I usually get good deals.

If you ever really had your way with the cigar budget it would probably lead to this...http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=25343

I'm a wuss!!!

I have a large humidor hidden in a cabinet behind some catalogs is my home office that holds about 300 cigars and is stuffed to the gills. Then I have a small 50 count on top of my desk. As I smoke the ones in the small humi, I add back from the big humi, when I get a little room, I buy another box.

Talk about cigar budgets, lets talk about shoe budgets!!!

My wife has 48 pairs of shoes, how many boxes of COROs could I buy with that money??

What do you do for a living?!?!?

Assuming the average cost between a $12 Cuban and a $6 NC as $9, 5 smokes a day is $45/day. Times 365, minus 10 sick days when smokes don't taste too good, a day a week "off" to rest the taste buds, and another 5 random days is 300. 300x$45=$13,500/yr.

I won't tell Al Gore that you're personally responsible for the greenhouse effect if you can clue me in on what to do to have that much discretionary income.

Don't ask, don't tell has worked so far. She was OK with my purchase of an Aristocrat humidor since it was attractive furniture. I TRY to get her to buy things for herself (so I feel less guilty), but she doesn't have anything that she wants to buy. Thank the Lord she is a saver, since I'm a spender, or we would be in debt up to our eyes!

Honesty is the best policy. She WILL find out. It's only a matter of time.

Good advice guys; they always find out.
My wife is cool with the cigar thing. She occasionally smokes 'em too. That helps a lot...
