Dropped my cigar, and it is gone

Howdy All:

I hope you are well.

I am in Chicago this weekend taking my teenage son to a concert. I was out on the patio of our 12th floor hotel room enjoying a Don Pepin Series JJ I think it was. I am about 1/3 of the way into it and adjusting it in my fingers and bam it drops out of my hand and down twelve floors and is lost to me.

This happen to others? any interesting lost cigar stories?

Best regards, tony

Re: Dropped my cigar, and it is gone

NO dumb ass. LOL We've all dropped cigars. I was on my deck at a party and was lighting up an Opus X Petite Lancero and it fell. I tried to catch it and really f**ked it up more than if I had let it fall.

Haha it's hard to top that one! I like to fish and there are few times better to smoke a cigar than when fishing..I think you know where this story is going! Needless to say the ocean has enjoyed many fine smokes, compliments of yours truly!

Re: Dropped my cigar, and it is gone

I fumbled a cigar as I was taking it out of the humidor. It hit the floor and split the head something awful.
But, watching your cigar fall from your hands and then disappear 12 stories from view sounds like a nightmarish vision. I am so sorry for your loss.

Wish I could have been there for this one but this is a pic a friend posted on another forum.

Hey was out on Easter weekend and gave the Pepin blue to his BIL. Said he was a little buzzed and lost it in the lake! D'OH!

Re: Dropped my cigar, and it is gone

Got drunk at a baby shower (Dominican baby showers everyone is invited like a party, not just the women), and had a Don Pepin Lancero in my hand the whole time. At the time I didn't have a cigar tube or leather case so I just kept in my hand the whole time. Made for good conversation.

Anyway I stumble to back to my car to get something, and I place the stick on top of the car as I open the door and reach in for what I was looking for. When I come back out I look on the roof and it's not there. Imagine a drunk guy crawling around his car in the dark .... that was me for a good 10 minutes and I never found the bastard.

Cigar fairy must have took it.

Re: Dropped my cigar, and it is gone

I posted this in a nother thread but...

I opened my big mouth about maybe do some fishin and my shawdow (4yr old daughter) decided that she needed to go too. I cant break her heart if I wanted to...I wake up to 15-20 mph winds...great fishing...try explaining that to a 4yr old and I got..."It doesn't blow under the water where the fish are daddy..so...I get my license bait and I get ready to leave wally world...now she wants soemthing to drink so I pick up 2 bottles of water..and wait in line and wait in line and wait some more...lady and her grandson are trying to put things back and get the total down to what they have on them so I pull out some cash and help move the line some..5 bux aint gonna break me and who knows it might be the thing that opens that kids eyes to kindness...and I was hopeful Karma would let me catch someting....

Off to the local hole..wind is blowing and dirt gets in jesi's eyes and she starts to cry..so I have my poles, chairs, tackle box and have no free hands..so I put everything down and wash her eyes out...she decides we need to try another place..yes I listen to a 4 yr old...on the way I get stopped by a train...sit and sit and sit..truck starts to get hot...GREAT another issue I really don't need..so I turn around and go way out of my way and after 2 hrs I am finally fishing...got the poles in and decide its time for a cigar....as I pull out the case and pull the cigar out jesi screams and says her bobber is gone and at the same moment my pole starts to hit..so I jump off and jesi's bobber is still there and I have no worm bummer but thats fishing...until the wind blows and flips the chair up and the case and cigars end up in the drink...wouldn't of minded the cigars but it was sicking to watch the case sink.....

Icing on the cake is while I am pissed I lost the case and cigars and I am not relaxing and lost the fish.....jesi the lil angel she is told me she was sorry I lost my case and cigars and that this was the best fishing she has everdone...Yeah cant be upset now just had my heart melted...

So lost a leather 3 finger case and 2 sticks but her best day of fishing was with me!!

I can not imagine that any lost or dropped cigar is going to make you feel more sorry for yourself than that. I wonder if you considered even for a second of trying to save it?
