Problem with Shipping?

Hello to all,

I am about to place my first online order. One with cigar.com and the other with cigarinternational.com. I am 18 years old and when I registered to the website(s) it made me confirm that I am at least 21 years of age. When the cigars are delivered to my house, do you think the UPS/USPS/FEDEX driver will ID? I am probably just over reacting, but I would hate for them to go "Return to Shipper" and see my smokes go back into the truck.

Also, I have read a few things about beatles. Had anyone had any problems with beatles coming with your sticks when shipped from either CI or Cigar.com?

Thanks for your help in advance,
Joe

I'm 19 and probably have ordered at least 10 times from cigarinternational.com and never had a problem so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for your reply. Does anyone have issues with taxes either? I have heard that there are some heafty fines from the IRS for cigarettes, but not sure about cigars.

They just leave them on the front porch at my place. Driver doesn't know what he's delivering and couldn't care less.

They did pass the SCHIP, but you will know your total when you check out, this is at any website.

Are you talking about sales tax? From what I understand you only haft to pay sales tax if you're ordering something from the state you live in. Plus all the cigar retailers haft to pay raised taxes on the cigars now because of this schip crap. That's why my lovely acid sampler went from $29.99 to $44.99 in less than 30 days lol.

If you buy out of state you are supposed to report the purchase to the state you live in and then pay the state taxes on tobacco purchases. SCHIP has barely filtered down to the B+M retailers yet, but it gave online retailers an excuse to raise their prices immediately for people who smoke only occasionally and stick to the ever-so-popular Acids.

My local b&m's prices have went up a lot.

Are you supposed to do this with everything you buy online that you don't pay sales tax on?

B+M's used SCHIP as an excuse to immediately raise prices even though it had not filtered down to the current stock. Some manufacturers didn't change prices but B+M's did. The cheaper the cigar the more the price would be noticed. Cheap cigars like ACID's with a huge, albeit confusing, following were easy targets for shops to raise prices on. Luckily, shops by me chose to be loyal to their customers and not trying to screw their customers by raising prices before their costs changed.

Do they offer a partial refund or something? What a disappointment that would've been!

Re: Problem with Shipping?

Nobody is going to card you at your front door. If delivering to a private residence, most times they don't even knock, they just leave it on the front porch. Most of the have to get a signature when delivering to apartments or dorms though.
