Am I crazy? Did I really taste that?
Okay folks I will preface this with just a little history. I have been somking for a few years now, and finally my palet is begining to develop ( thank God) to the point I can taste some of the more obscure flavors of Cigars. Now on to the question.
I received my order from CI today So the first thing i did was fire up one of the La Veija Habana Corojo. ( though I can't remember the name of them they are a Toro size) It was a great cigar, best i ever smoked for the price. When i got to the last third I began to pick up flavor that was new to me. I feel kinda crazy saying this but It had a fairly strong taste of roasted peanuts. ROASTED PEANUTS, am i crazy? Has anyone else experienced this flavor? Please tell me I haven't lost my freakin mind. |

I've gotten that flavor from the LVH cameroon - perhaps the binder and filler are similar enough that the corojo and the cameroon share the taste. I found it pleasing, just a hint of it and not a flavor that overpowers.

Awesome. That makes me feel better. I was hoping my palet wasn't screwed up.

Re: Am I crazy? Did I really taste that?
Sometimes I get that in various kinds of cigars. Though it's usually an odor rather than a taste. Funny thing is, it only occurs in cigars that I really like

Never roasted peanuts, but have gotten hazel but and almond before (2 different cigars). But most of the time no certain kind of but just a nutty flavor.

Re: Am I crazy? Did I really taste that?
Nope!
I get peanuts all the time, they are especially nice if the gar gets a little salty, ![]() It usually comes through the most in Connecticut wrappers for me. Cheers.

Re: Am I crazy? Did I really taste that?
I am a firm believer that cigars can taste different to each individual depending on their taste pallet and imagination.
I mean com on, how else can people say a cigar tastes like leather or dirt? ![]() |

Re: Am I crazy? Did I really taste that?
I agree, it takes a whole lot of imagination to taste some of the things you read in reviews. Tastes are very subjective.
