Where to buy sticks in Miami/Lauderdale area?

Hey guys,

I'm going on vacation to Hollywood Beach in mid-August and was hoping to find out what the best spots for cigars are around the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area. I know of Calle Ocho, Mike's Cigar and Fiato but any other great spots and comments on these?

im a regular at fiato cigars... eddie (the owner) is a great guy... the selection isnt huge but everything in there is top shelf and the prices cant be beat... another good spot is cuenca cigars in hollywood... its on harrison street one block off of hollywood blvd... another spot i frequent is florida cigar company on federal hwy in ft. lauderdale... the cigars are overpriced so i usually bring my own but the smoking lounge is second to none in the area... hope this helps and pm me if u want any more info...

ps... if uve never been calle ocho is wonderful... its an authentic cuban neighborhood and is a great place for a day trip

Was down there a couple of weeks ago. I checked out Mike's while I was there. Another spot that I went to was Vilar Cigar's in South Miami. They had a huge selection of almost everything and the prices couldn't be beat. There's a lot of great places to check out, just be careful, you can spend a lot. Trust me, I know.

I will also be in the Ft Lauderdale/Miami area next week. Hoping to check out some B&M's while I'm there & see some manufacturers if possible.

A couple of years ago I was in Ft. Lauderdale to go on a cruise. Just south of the entrance to the docks is a place called Stix. The front is a cigar shop and the back is an Orange County Chopper retail store. Great place.

This place was reccomended to me by Billy Perdomo.

If you have the time you need to do calle ocho. It is like nothing else. Get yourself a good cuban sandwich and walk from factory to factory. The Padilla factory/lounge is very place nice to relax. Enjoy!

Just stayed at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood in late May. Aweseome spot. If you're not staying there, definitely check it out, crash the pool (no wristband needed), grab a drink & DEFINITELY hit Nikki Marina across the walking bridge from the lobby, over on the IntraCoastal. Great bar, inside & out, and a great spot for a cigar even. Also, Hollywood Prime, the hotel's steakhouse is very very good. I usually don't have steaksauce with my steak but their homemade sauce was off the charts.

In and around Calle Ocho, we hit Pepin (although you can't see the factory, you can buy cigars), La Gloria Cubana (you can see the factory and buy cigars) and Padron (only the factory store, no factory and you can only buy boxes, no singels).

We ate at Versailles, 100% Cuban and it was great too.

While at Padron, they referred me to a great cigar store where I could buy singles but I'm forgetting the name. You could call 'em up and ask where they recommend.

Thanks for the info Kerri, I will definetely check these out, the lounge and bar at Aromas seems nice. I think my hotel is a few miles from Cuenca, but will be with my wife and 1 year old, not sure I will be ''allowed'' to get away and smoke during evenings... I'll PM you if I get a chance.

Your having a wonderful day at the beach, relaxing and enjoying your vacation with your family. Then after you eat an early dinner somewhere..."I have a great idea", you say. "Someone said there is a great place downtown we can get real homemade gelato, lets go down and get dessert!"

Then you park, and as your walking down the sidewalk towards the gelato shop (conveniently located just a few steps west of the cigar shop), you see Cuenca Cigar Shop, "Wow, will you look at this, maybe we can come back here to side outside a bit and eat our icecream while I check out the store"...
