Some personal, end-of-the-day thoughts, and a nubbed cigar
What a day. Car in the shop with $700 and change into her already and still not fixed yet. Among other finance related things, had to talk to the wife about our budget (and you know how much fun that is...)
Talked to my father long distance tonight as well. He has had some health issues these last couple months, and the doctors findings are still inconclusive. We hope it is nothing serious. Yet we are doing well. Dad is in good spirits and optimistic. He is a man of great faith, and I have been fortunate to have inherited such a blessing from him. I wanted to clear my head a bit, so I took a DPG JJ Maduro out on the porch. I don't usually nub cigars because I find them a bit bitter tasting in the final quarter, but tonight, this cigar was an exception. Been in my humidor since spring and the flavors were smooth and well married. Perhaps the cigar itself wasn't a "religious" experience, but sometimes when a terrific cigar happens at a certain moment, perhaps with certain company, or a well needed reprieve from life's various stresses; that cigar becomes as beautiful as a setting sun ending the day. Till tomorrow... ![]()

Re: Some personal, end-of-the-day thoughts, and a nubbed cigar
Excellent post. Sometimes I take for grated my cigar time when times are good. During the school year those little reprieves during the week can be so refreshing and clearing. Here's to the best. Tomorrow is a new day.
I smoked that exact same cigar this past weekend. My first one and my experience was the same as yours. A very nice smoke, my new favorite from Pepin.
