Cain Cigar reviews, information and pictures!

I just wanted to give everyone some info on Cain which will be launched in the Oliva Cigar booth at this years IPCPR. You can find out more in-depth information on Cain at it's website Home | Cain Cigar.

-Cain will be released in 2 wrappers, a Habano and a Maduro and most likely 4 sizes: Robusto, Toro, Torpedo, and Dbl Toro.
-Cain is blended with a ligero filler consisting of ligero from Esteli, Condega, and the Jalapa Valley in Nicaragua.
-All ligero's are triple fermented for smoothness and superb flavor.

Reviews can be found at:

Walt from Stogie Review will also be posting a review soon.

For those that love full bodied cigar, this cigar is for you. They should begin shipping the week of IPCPR and arriving in stores a few days later. Price point will be in line with the Serie V and be about $7-$10 depending on your local taxes. If your at the show, stop by the Oliva booth and check em out!

I smoked the Cain Maduro Toro this past weekend (July 25th). It was one of the smoothest full bodied smokes I have had in a LONG time. I can't wait for them to come out next month.

Wish he would have done one in corojo. What's up with that? He did not do the Nub in corojo either. Of course there is only one Master of corojo, and that's Pepin, and nobody can fill those shoes!

Re: Cain Cigar reviews, information and pictures!

Corojo = Habano in most cases.

Corojo was originally developed and grown by Diego Rodriguez at his farm or vega, Santa Ines del Corojo and takes its name from the farm. It was used as a wrapper extensively for many years on Cuban cigars, but its susceptibility to various diseases, Blue mold in particular, caused the Cuban genetic engineers to develop various hybrid forms that would not only be disease-resistant, but would also display excellent wrapper qualities.

While there still is some pure strands of Corojo out there, the majority is a hybrid. The habano that I use, fits that catagory.

Mostly Corojo is used as another name for Habano.

Thanks Ian and Sam for the info, looking forward to trying these.

Curious why the name Cain was used.
