Cool PERDOMO shows he and his family have CLASS !!

Hello everyone, I don't know if you had a chance to read what Nick Perdoma had to say about the SCHIP tax that has been put onto cigars these days but if you don't think that he is showing some class then I must not know what class is.

This is what he is doing about the SCHIP tax hikes on cigars::

Nick Perdomo of Tabacalera Perdomo just published his companies response to the SCHIP tax on cigars, here it is:
Many people are still in the dark on what cigar manufacturers are going to do with this tax. While many in the industry are telling us that most are having price increases on their cigars and passing the tax on to the consumers. With our prices going up every day, I can truly understand their positions. I cannot speak for other companies, but I felt it was very important to speak to you directly on Tabacalera Perdomo’s stance.
Here it is:
1. We will absorb (eat) all the SCHIP tax on over 70 percent of our portfolio (Yes, you read that correctly).
2. On all Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary, we will eat the entire SCHIP tax (Yes, you read this correctly also).
3. On Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary, we will also be having a Price Decrease (Again you read this right). We are dropping our prices on all our Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary by $25.00 to $37.00 per box at retail!!!
4. [On] Perdomo2, Perdomo Habano and Perdomo Lot 23, we will just pass on the tax. Believe me, the prices are still fantastic on these great and popular cigars.
If we don’t then I will have to start walking the street with a tin cup in my hand asking for money.
You might ask yourself “Has Nick gone Crazy?!” Well friends, I am doing this because in my heart I don’t think we can afford to raise prices. Matter of fact in the last 16 years in this business I have raised my prices only once and that was a nickel. I also believe in these tough times, going against the tide and eating most of this tax and in some cases dropping our prices on a very popular brand shows our true commitment and good will to each of you, our loyal customers. As most of you know, we don’t spend much money on magazine advertisements. We spend our hard earned money on grass-roots efforts in events and shows. That’s where I and my staff have met tens of thousands of you. We spend our money in growing the finest Cuban-seed tobaccos. As you can clearly see, our priorities are our customers. And by the grace of God, we have grown this small family-run company yearly, where even my mom still works. You are all to thank for this. Our retailers and consumers have spread the word on Perdomo throughout the years and this is our payback to the industry that I dearly love. In these tough times, we are all taking it on the chin.
I truly believe that I have made the right decision and we also believe that we will continue growing our company and continue growing the Perdomo name by offering great cigars at even greater prices.
Again from the entire Perdomo team here in the United States and in Nicaragua, we want to thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Nick Perdomo
President
Tabacalera Perdomo S.A.

Thank you Nick! and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY !!

Re: PERDOMA shows he and his family have CLASS !!

Nick Perdomo's a good guy, and a great business man. Word of this has spread fast and he has gained much respect (not to say he didn't already have it!).

Its Perdomo btw, title says Perdoma

I'm not sure if it was SCHIT taxes or what, but I noticed some cigars DOUBLE in price. Most noticeable to me was the Isla Del Sol by Drew Estate. From $32.00 a box to $65.00+. Ouch...

I have liked Perdomos for a while, but since I've learned about this I've been buying more of his stuff for that reason and plan to try all of them!

Wow a stand up guy. I think I will purchase a box of his Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary, sounds like a great deal in current taxation times!

Cool Re: PERDOMO shows he and his family have CLASS !!

I was told that I made a mistake in the Perdomo last name and as I look at it I see that I did, I apologize to the Perdomo family first of all and then to all of you that had to read it.

I apologize to all of you for the misspelled last name of Nick Perdomo , I spelled it Perdoma the first time I typed it.

OOPS. and I proof read the thing before I sent it out, There goes my writers award. LOL

Thanks to Nickerson for opening my eyes to the mistake.

Believe it or not I smoke the heck out of Perdomo cigars, they are some of my favorite cigars.

Oh Well , I never said I was a rocket scientist.

Personally I would recommend either his Lot 23's maduro's or 23 Connecticut's or his Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary or you could try his Perdomo Habano's.
It all depends on your taste of tobacco. I have not had anyone of his cigars that were bad enough not to buy them though.

In other words you can't go wrong with any one of his cigars as far as I am concerned.

Re: PERDOMO shows he and his family have CLASS !!

I love both the Lot 23 and the Slow-Aged, and they're both on C-Bid nearly all the time. The 23's are offered in more limited numbers, so there's more competition for them, but the Slow-Aged can be a great bargain if you're willing to lose a lot of bids before you win one. Low-ball them, and be patient. The Glorioso are my favorites, and I alternate them with 5 Vegas Golds as my morning coffee smokes.

If you have the budget for it, any of the Habano line are also very good smokes. I haven't tried too many outside of these three lines, so can't really speak to them.

I applaud Nick and his company for looking out for us. I just now pulled up several pages of various Perdomos on CI, and lots and lots of them say "7-10 days" for delivery, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

I'm just curious when these price reductions are going to take place, I can't find a box for under $50 anywhere.

Trust me, being a rocket scientist and being able to spell everything correctly have nothing to do with each other... lol
Thanks for the information. I will definately be trying this product. Haven't as yet, but I will.

Lot 23 Maduro

Check out famous-smoke for cheap 5 packs on them.

Perdomo 10th Anniversary Robusto Maduro 5 Pack, $16.50

Perdomo Lot 23 Robusto Maduro 5 Pack, $16.75

I've never had the 10th anni. How does it compare to the Lot 23?

No no no man, you misunderstood.

They are lowering the price per box BY $25.00 to $37.00. Thats not how much they cost.

So if it would cost $100.00 before, they lower price BY $25.00. Now it costs $75.00
