3 weeks, No Humidor, Cigar Ruined?

A buddy came back from the Dom. Republic.

Bought Cigars there 3 weeks ago.

There has been no humidor, stored in a closet for 3 weeks. Heat has been outside 20-35.
But it should be room temperature.

Are they completely ruined?

Try and give it a gentle squish and a roll between your thumb and forefinger. If it feels all dry and crackly and makes a crackling sound (a little bit is to be expected), it's dry and needs to be reconditioned. Look for posts on that, if you need to, it's a process I'm not familiar with.

Does this mean they are still salvageable?

Thanks for the reply.

Slowly rehumidify them by placing them in a humidor. They may have lost some of the natural oils but I would not think they lost a lot in 3 weeks time. Once they are properly humidified go ahead and enjoy.
