Acid - is there a trick to the band ?

So far I had Acid Blondie and Acid Krush Classic Blue and on both it is a pain to remove the band.

It is impossible to remove it without destroying it... it will not remove easier when the cigar is lit and gets warm... almost every time I rip a piece of the wrapper.
I know, it is not a Opus X but it still ticks me off.
Am I supposed to smoke them with the band ?

I let the cigar burn all the way down to about an 8th of a inch to the band. This usually does the trick. I have a couple of Acid bands that look pretty good & I do not remember them being too difficult using this method.

I have the same problem with the bands on the Perdomo Lot 23. The bands are too wide and while smoking it to within an 8th of an inch loosens the glue near the burn, the rest still won't budge. I love Perdomos but hate the bands. I know this doesn't help with your problem with Acid but I just had to have my little rant.

Actually smoking the band might make them taste better.

I thought I was the only one with that problem.

If you are using them for a "project", do what I did and use an exacto to cut the marred up side possibly in bunches to assure they are the same size etc...

Maybe they get the cap glue and band glue mixed up... My cap unravels alot on Acids, even when I cut them short.....

Actually, the trick with an Acid is to gently grasp the unlit cigar between your thumb and curled middle finger and then forcefully flick that poostick as far out into river as you can launch it before it ever touches your lips! (sorry, sorry...to each his own, I know)

Re: Acid - is there a trick to the band ?

I get them off easily by letting the cigar burn to just before the wrapper. That way the cigar is hotter near the wrapper and will more than easily slip off.

See, I thought I had tried this. Maybe I will need to have the burn come closer to the band.
Thanks Joe !
