I think there's a difference in an OK stick and a good stick. I can smoke good sticks that are decently priced and enjoy them but smoking an OK stick disappoints me. I smoke for relaxation and enjoyment, not nicotine, so I don't want to smoke a cigar that I don't thoroughly enjoy.

Unfortunatley, I find my preference in most of the illusiones and brown label Tats and I don't have the budget to smoke $10.00 sticks everyday, even at only 1 stick per day.
Ditto this Brother Tim!

Howdy All:

I hope you are well.

I am still new into this, I think i can claim this until I buy my first box, humidor over 25, know all my sizes, that type of thing.

I am tending to go for quality, as I only smoke a few times a week and am at the point in life where I can enjoy a more quality smoke at least until my children start college.

Best regards, tony

Re: Quality Or Quantity?

I've always been a Quality over Quantity guy.

Whether I'm paying $2 or $5 or $10 a stick, I want it to be something good. I'd rather not smoke something I wont enjoy... just like Scotch for me, I wont drink a low-end (usually cheap) Scotch. If that means that I dont get to drink quite as often, I am ok with it, because the times I do drink, I enjoy it immensely.

Some of the sites already mentioned run crazy good deals on great cigars from time to time... patience is critical, not to just buy up the first impulse thing you see, but to wait and do research and jump on a deal when it comes around. I've been able to buy Padron 1964 Anniversary Imperials, my favorite cigar of all time (so far) for $10/stick. I've bought great Rocky's for $3/stick.

it can be done !

Re: Quality Or Quantity?

I guess I already knew the answer I just need to exercise a little self control,(which I've never had in abundance), and lay off the impulse buys. If only the descriptions were all as honest as this one for Don Brotto cigars I found on CI.

"A "Don Nobody" you absolutely should not even consider buying. This medium-bodied smoke, despite it's 80 cent price tag,, can only be justified if you're knee-deep in the sauce and not thinking straight."

The really funny thing is that particular cigar is sold out.
