Indios Maxima Reserva 2003 = Ok, tasted like hay to start, still tastes like hay after 30 days int he humi, ill leave the box in there as some one said that they need a good 90 days in the humi to start tasting better. This makes no sense to me seeing as they are advertised as being aged for 5 years.

5 years is the tobacco age.. not the cigar age.
I do understand the difference between tobacco aging and cigar aging but then the add reads

Quote:
Advertisement blurb:
boasting five additional years of box aging.
Are they referring to the tobacco? The cigar aging in the box? Or maybe they had the boxes made 5 years ago and never used them?

By that statement I would say they are claiming the actual cigar is aged 5 years.

Just remember, if you age a dog rocket 10 years all you will end up with is a 10 year old dog rocket.

Re: Cigar Age vs Tobacco Age

Didn't know about the Advertisement saying box aging.. yeah.. they are claiming the smoke to be.

that being said.. Madurolover is spot on..

As said in Tommy Boy:

"Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of sh*t. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me"

This goes hand in hand with the quotation on the page after this saying:

A 10 year old stale dog rocket XD Maybe it's better I don't mix mine in with my other cigars, they may give off their stench!

Re: Cigar Age vs Tobacco Age

Claims of "age" are just that. Claims.

It could mean the wrapper. It could mean the binder. It could mean the filler. It could mean one, two, or all three. It could mean in the box (so rare that it is almost insignificant). It could mean in the fermentor (usually the case, but usually only the part they're touting). It could mean... shit, it means NOTHING! "Aged" is a term that cigar guys love to read. Cigar makers play on our love of the term and throw it around like grass seed on a wanting lawn.

All that really matters is, how the cigar tastes TO YOU.

Ignore hyperbole. Smoke what tastes best to you.

Some crappy cigars do come to life with age. It's rare, but it does happen. Generally speaking, what's been said is true: today's dog rocket, is tomorrow's aged dog rocket.
