I concur my brother. Is it really that bad? NO, cigarette smoke, cigar smoke, no smoke.....whatever.
I don't like people that are stupid.....I don't make faces when they're around....

I just smoke cigars when either on my back porch which is quite a ways to the next house, or someplace that allows cigar smoking with friends.
There is simply too many real issues with the workd today for the focus to be on politically correct places and ways to smoke. So just relax, strum your guitar, and take a nice long pull on a your favorite cigar.
Let others ruin thier night by being mad.

I agree in principal with you in that we should always try to work things out with those who are not disagreeable in how they make their point to us. I do not like cigarette smoke at all but if I am in an area that allows cigarettes I don't start asking people not to smoke,,,I either leave the area or endure it. The problem with a lot of people who don't like cigar smoke is that they are led to believe that people who smoke cigars are rude and indifferent in the first place which is why they make all of their exaggerated facial expressions or using their hands to wave the smoke away. They don't even take into account that most cigar smokers only smoke in an area that is designated as cigar smoking areas,,,we actually have to search out and do our homework so to speak to find these "areas" and after all that work to have somebody come up to us and become disrespectful from the outset is going to find themselves in a very precarious situation with me personally. I will always respect the other person until such time that they become either agitated, disrespectful or trying to bully me.

Never heard about this, but asthmatic people can get very similar symptoms from smoke.

Man I wish could smoke in parks here in Socal too bad its banned at parks and beaches..

It's hard to find a place to even smoke outside of your own home here in CA..

Depending where you are in SD there used to be a couple of places in old town that allowed smoking. Both are smoke shops.

PB bar and grill used to let you smoke on the patio as well as Taylors. Taylors was at the end of Grand ave in PB across from the fire station. I heard from a friend that still lives in PB that it isnt taylors anymore but the new owners still allow you to smoke out on their deck overlooking the ocean. Hope that helps

maybe it's just living in Canada but I've smoked in many different places and never had anybody come up to me and comment or even make faces or fake cough. I would just laugh if they did.

When I see someone doing this to me I just smile at them and puff away! They most times get the hint, but not always/ It just pisses me off that they are in an area that allows smoking and giving me the stink eye!

Great thread! I was in New Orleans the other weekend walking down Decatur Street (very popular walking street with lots of cool shops). There were several cigar places in the area and I saw people walking and smoking cigars so I figured I would too!

Next thing I know there is a lady following me saying "Sir, you can't do that here! excuse me! sir!" I just smiled at my girlfriend, pretended that I didn't hear her and kept on walking. It kind of surprised me and I didn't know she was talking to me at first. As far as I know there is no law forbidding smoking on a street in New Orleans where half of the people have beers in their hands at all hours..

Nope, you can smoke in bars too. She HAD to be a tourist, those types of people just don't exist there.

I usually try to move out of the way of the wind and people unless I know they don't mind, I've had a few rude encounters and I let them have it I'm not very shy when people are rude I'm rude 1,000% back I'm like needle in your ass.
