1 being the Pepin labels mentioned, and one of the Tats mentioned

2 being the LFD double legiero, El Rico Habanna, and one of the Tats mentioned.

Am I correct in my distinction? To my palette these divisions are not related. For example, when I smoke the LFD double legiero chiseletto, it tasted nothing similar to the DPG black/blue label. The LFD is bold/strong in your face and the DPGs have a strong peppery/spicy taste you can't miss.

Defcon3 are you looking for the strongest/boldest cigar?
Not necesarily the strongest/boldest cigar taste, but one that could be measured by scoville heat units in terms of stinging your mouth/tounge

Yes, I know SHU is not used in the cigar world, but so far to me the Oliva V and LFD Double Ligero has pretty good effect of peppers and spice dancing around the inside of my mouth. Two completely different profiles but each one shares that one characterisitic.

I have had cigars that were full/strong/bold but had zero spicy/peppery characterisitics. I have had mild-medium cigars like the Padilla Habano which has a slight touch of pepper/spice, but noticable...

I certainly like cigar suggestions, I am taking notes, and I have added everyones recommendations here to my list to try, I am hoping to hear some stories where people were just freaked out

I told this one here before, but I'll tell it again, I had a PAM 64 Principe "my first one ever" and it had to be defective or bizarre inconsitency, because I NEVER experienced this again with the PAM 64 EVER.

I get home, the sun has just set, orange and pink skyline paints the atmosphere, I punch the Principe so gently not to damage it, chew on a piece of dark chocolate prior to firing it up to clear the palate, toast the foot, and BAM!!! My lips were on fire, my mouth was on fire, and this freaking thing was oozing a dark oil where I punched it!!! WOAH!!!! It was like it was infused with chilli peppers

It was shocking, suprising, but I kinda liked it and went and bought a couple more but that never happened again...

Since then my palate has changed and I like the firey spice, and in my hunt, the LFD has been the closest thing to that CrAzY PAM 64 experience...

Still working my way up to the fuller cigars, but I would have to say 5 Vegas Miami. There's definitely some spice but it didn't linger. It was quite enjoyable.

Interesting. Never tried a La Flor Dominicana Ligero Series. How does the Double Ligero compare to the normal ones?

I'm interested in trying the Double Ligero DL600.

Spiciest I've had would be Old Henry by Don Pepin Garcia.

Seems as if Don Pepin blends some spicy stuff from what I am seeing...

The LFD Double Ligero packs more punch than the regular ligero, the chiselito is my favorite size though...

Going to have to pick me up some of them. They look good.

Pepin's definitely got a kick to em. The wrapper alone made my lips tingle a bit when you touch the cigar to your lips. Spicy cap.

I really like the DL 600. I just bought a box two weeks ago. Great smoke.

The Double ligero has ligero filler and binder.

The Ligero is just filler.

What exactly does Ligero mean? Spicy?

If so I wonder about CAO Lx2 which stands for Ligero times two!

Cory, Ligero is the leaf from the top of the tobacco plant. It is considered to be the most potent leaf. It is usually added to make the cigar have a bit of spice to it and is a big part of many strong cigars.

Because it is the top leaf it gets the most sun which produces more oils and gets the richer flavors. The consequence is it's harder to light. That's why they don't really make cigars with pure ligero filler.

It is my favorite leaf.

Literally translated Ligero means light.

Thank you for your reply. It's interesting you picked some of the exact same cigars to describe almost opposite ideas. When I think of a spicy cigar to recommend to someone I think of the Padilla Habano and when I think of a strong full body cigar with no spice I recommend the Oliva V, LFD Double Ligero, or RP Edge Maduro. It's all so interesting how it changes over time!
