Flavored cigar question...
Hey guys!
Alright, so I'll be the first to admit-I'm still pretty green to the whole cigar thing, but right now, I've got a nice desktop humi going with a couple Sancho Panza Double Maduros, some Bahia Blues, several Vieja Hacienda belicosos and a Victor Sinclair Primeros torpedo. Cheaper stuff, I know, but I'm a broke college student .So that's my collection...along with three CAO Moontrance petite coronas, which is where my issue lies. I know you're not supposed to store flavored cigars in a humidor with non-flavored ones. However, all of them are still wrapped in cellophane and the CAO's are separated from the rest of them by a considerable space of air. They've been in there for about a month with the others now, I haven't really noticed much flavor/scent transfer. So should I just leave those three little guys as they are, or should I set up a micro-tupperdore or something just for these three flavored cigars before any major damage happens? |

Re: Flavored cigar question...
I'd be more concerned with the "flavors" seeping into the wood of your humi. if stored over time. If it were me, I'd store all flavored cigars separate from the others.

I'd tupperdore the flavored smokes... You don't want those flavors saturating everything in your humidor!

You're flavoring your humidor. Infused cigars will still polute everything around them, even if kept in a plastic zipper bag. Celophane is pourous. GET THEM OUT!

Smoke the little buggers up and don't buy anymore.

Oh, and for the record: they have now been removed, and placed in a ziploc with a small humipearl pouch for now. Thanks for saving my cigars and my humidor, guys! Last edited by chu2; 08-09-2009 at 01:19 PM.. |

Re: Flavored cigar question...
I'm not sure if flavored smokes age the same as regular cigars. I think they may be intended to be smoked "fresher". Maybe consider keeping extra in the freezer? They should keep pretty much forever and you don't have to worry about polluting your other smokes.

On a side note, I'm airing out the humi since it's a nice, warm, semi-humid day (RH at about 70) to give any leftover scent molecules a chance to get out and air to circulate. |

Re: Flavored cigar question...
It's good that you got them out of there. Overtime, it would've leaked into your other cigars even though the cellophane was still on.
