5 Vegas Miami - label difference?
I had a 5 Vegas Miami a month or so ago that had a large shapely label on it.
Then today I bought one at a local B&M that had a different label, it was a simple thin straight band. Could someone please enlighten me as to the difference? |

Re: 5 Vegas Miami - label difference?
Did you have different sizes of the cigar both times? Or were they the same size? I noticed all the 5 Vegas Miami cigars had the larger label on them, except for the toro...which had the smaller simpler one.
Also, I know that a lot of people have said that Pepin had changed bands recently on a few of his cigar brands, so I'm wondering if that was one of them too? I'm sure there is someone who may know more about it than I do. But either way, the 5 Vegas Miami is a very good smoke! I am glad I have a few more on the way! |

Re: 5 Vegas Miami - label difference?
All of he 5 Vegas I have had recently looked like the WWF Belt wrapped around a cigar. Not complaining, just saying I have yet to see a dainty 5 Vegas band. Especially the Miami

Re: 5 Vegas Miami - label difference?
Kerri ive had the same issue. Ive also asked this question here and no answers. They both taste the same but for some reason a sampler i bought had the thin band and the boxes ive grabbed have the big band on top and small band on the foot.

Re: 5 Vegas Miami - label difference?
I'm pretty sure that the thin one-liner band is the OLD BAND, and the new bigger one that looks like all other 5Vegas bands, are the NEW BANDS.
But pretty sure that they are the same blends. |

Re: 5 Vegas Miami - label difference?
I've noticed (ironic) that there seem to be two Padilla Miami's as well:
![]() ![]() I'm thinking the second one is the old Miami & the first one is the new Miami, anyone know?

You are correct Jeff. The second is the old band.

Re: 5 Vegas Miami - label difference?
To answer questions...
1. The 2 sizes at the shop last night were, Robusto and Churchill, both had the single small band. I don't think this mystery is realted to size. I have another clue to add: In another thread, "pepin whores unite", Koby posted up a nice pic of the factory label off of his box (not sure what size, or when he got it though, or which band it had). Hopefully he will let us know. His pic showed "Hand Made in Nicaragua" + label of "Tabacalera Garcia". (I think the Tabacalera Garcia is Jaime's new 2nd factory in Nicaragua. There are several articles around mentioning them building a new factory. ) Now, both boxes at my local shop, were recieved from distributor same day, and both had "Hand Made in Nicaragua" + label of "Tabacalera Cubana". (Which is the original Garcia factory in Nicaragua.) I am assuming they are the same blend, the taste was identical, regardless of the band it had. But, I am trying to determine the age of the product my local shop just received. I've also found old cigar reviews which show that small thin band, but cannot find any current reviews with the large band. So maybe our guess are correct, the large band is the new one. Who knows....arghghg. |

Re: 5 Vegas Miami - label difference?
What I believe to have happened is that 5 Vegas change the label a few months ago to match the rest of their blends bands. What you bought was one of the older cigars, which I'm sure are still around in some wharehouses. Just think of it as an already aged cigar. You may want to get one to add to your collection. That is if you are collecting.
*Disclaimer* This is just an observation on my part and I have nothing to prove my claim. But it makes sense.
