CI's brown bag sampler

I recently ordered the Gurkha X3 Triple Ligero weekly special from CI, so i decided to "throw a brown bag sampler on my order!" for $20 as CI had been urging me to do for quite a while.

Their description of the Brown Bag said that they were "all solid premium blends" and that i "can expect some really nice cigars in there, including a variety of blends and brand names with no junky reject crapola."

so here's what i received today in my brown bag sampler:

Rocky Patel REO Robusto
El Compa Churchill
Brocatus Churchill
5 Vegas Torpedo
Gurkha Expedition Toro
Conga Black Pearl Toro
Perdomo Cantero Toro
Indian Tabac Maduro Tomahawk
Masada (by K. Hansotia) Toro
El Mejor Espresso Robusto

some of these look ok but a few of them are cheaper ($1 or less apiece) bundle stogies (El compa, brocatus, masada). i added up the cost of each cigar at the box (or bundle) price on CI and they totaled $22.

the verdict: the BB sampler is something to try if you want to get 10 different cigars that you possibly haven't tried before, but it isn't necessarily a great deal (for the $$$) and it includes some bundle-type cigars that you might have no interest in anyway.

I see MAYBE 5 "premium" cigars in that list.. Seems I'll be staying away from that one.. because who knows how many you'll get if you order it.

Yep, there's a reason those cigars are lying around and the vendors won't tell you what you're getting. I remember the crap that would come in the JR Cigars 'grab bags'.

You are much braver than me. Although intrigued by there advertising of the BBS, I avoided it like the plague.
