A cup of hot tea went very well with my last cigar. It helped me taste the cigar, and the smoke added some flavor to the tea.

Lately I've been pairing my cigars with Squirt, Fresca or lemondade. The tartness clears the palate but nonr of the aforementioned drinks linger in the mouth.
That being said I find most drinks pair well with cigars if you're in the mood for them.
Rum (any decent sort) goes very well as does single malts. I think it has to do with their unique tastes but that's just my thought.

For both of you I would recommend a sparkling water (you know the kind that is common in Europe). For me it is the best drink you can have if you cant have booze with a cigar. It cleanses the palette and cuts down on the nicotine aftertaste for me.

I drink socially but for some reason I don't enjoy cigars with alcohol. Maybe I'm not an aficionado yet. I like plain iced water or a diet coke.

Still experimenting. I had a Guiness with a Mac Ascot and it didn't go well together. Had the same cigarillo with lemonade and it was great!

Do darker/stronger drinks go better with stonger cigars and vice versa?

I really like sipping whisky or scotch with a maduro!
