So I had a bahia blu a while back and loved it, best 2$ smoke I've tried. I would really like to find a cigar that has that same taste, but in a petite corona or other "shorter smoke" size, and around the same price range. The cheaper, the better, as long as it tastes similar.

Any reccomendations?

Yeah, me likey them as well. I'm afraid that I can't help you with anything that small, as I haven't tried anything narrower than a 48. CI has 20-stick boxes of Bahia Blu robustos for $30, though, so if you can put up with the 50 ring then you can't go wrong at a buck fifty per stogie.

Not sure if the taste is quite on par with what you are looking for, but I bought a "brick" of the Pirata's from CI. They say they are 4x40, yet they seem to run a little smaller in ring guage. I bought 40 of them for my father-in-law, who likes a smaller smoke. We each had one tonight and it was better than I assumed it would be. $25.00 for 4 tins of 8. Check it out. Can't post the link or I would!

Thanks, guys.
Yeah, I'm really looking for something less conspicuous/shorter than the usual in this, mainly because of certain coffeehouses and localities looking down on cigars in my area.

Although, oddly enough, nobody ever complained when I smoked a Macanudo Ascott in some of those places with a "no cigar" policy (even though it smelled pretty cigar like). The macs were not really the flavor I was going for, unfortunately...

EDIT:
This just in:
Has anyone tried these Alta Gracia cigarillos or the Erin Go Bragh cigarillos on Cigars International? They look like the same thing, just different packaging...

If they really taste "creamy," they might be somewhat close to my Bahia experience.

It's been a while since I've smoked a Bahia Blu, and I remember enjoying it; but sadly I didn't take any tasting notes on it. So, I'm kinda shooting from the hip on recommendations that might fit what you're looking for. I'm taking it from the quoted comment that you want something with a creamy taste, so I'll try to go that route. If you can tell us what else about the Blu's flavor profile you liked that will help. For now, here are a few thoughts:

Bahia B-Line B4 rothschild. At 4.5x52 it's short, but may be a little fatter than you're looking for. I smoked one on Monday night, and it was one of the best sub $2 (and best mixed filler) cigars I've ever smoked. It was creamy, had a nice sweetness from the darker wrapper, and occasionally had little undertones of spice or mild pepper that kept it interesting. CI is selling bundles of these pretty cheap right now, just like the Blu.

Oliveros Classic. I've smoked the torpedo. It was creamy, with hints of sweetness, and sweet spice. They make a 5.5x40 corona which CI offers at $30 / bundle of 25, so it wouldn't be too expensive to try. You can also find 5 packs on C Bid at times.

Leon Jimenes. I've smoked a few of the #5 (5.0x38 Corona), and they're just a very nice smoke. They're pretty mild, very smooth, and very flavorful. They taste like creamy tobacco on my palate. At $64 / box of 25 they're just over your $2 / stick target. Again, you may want to try a 5 pack first.

Haha I didn't take notes either, but I remember it also having an almost fruity quality to it (the "sweet spice" you mentioned, I think). There were hints of sweetness, but not like in a flavored cigar where the saccharine overload just hits you. It wasn't too earthy, not too spicy. Just very mild and smooth without much bite.

I had a regular Sancho Panza tonight that reminded me of it, just spicier and much earthier.
