Beetle help for N00b!!

I just received my shipment from cbid and it was in the mail box for while today. I open it up and my 5 pack of Blue Label's has a quite the hole in one of the robustos inside. I know it is the work of beetles, but what should I do? I put both 5er's in the freezer and haven't opened either. Should I crack open both 5 er's and seperate the cigars out into the freezer? Should I contact cbid for a replacement 5er or should I just try to deal with one infected cigar on my own? Is it still smokeable? I've never had an issue with beatles before!!!!

I don't know how long to leave them in the freezer or how long it will take to cure/stablize!!! HELP!

Re: Beetle help for N00b!!

double bag
2 days fridge
2 days freeze
2 days fridge
profit!

BUT, cbid is usually pretty solid with replacement issues. Start there.

Personally, I would send the 5 pack back at their expense.

As far as the freezer, you should slowly acclimatize them. Fridge for 24 hrs. Freezer for 24 hrs. Back in the fridge for 24hrs. Room temp for 24 hrs and then in the humi. Just my opinion.

I would for sure be on the phone with them about the one 5 pack. You didn't pay extra for the bugs LOL. As far as the freezing goes, have never done it myself.

I would contact them for a replacement. They always are swift about this and send you a return shipping label. Being in flordia, if they're sent USPS you could probably have the new shipment in about a week, round trip that is.

Re: Beetle help for N00b!!

Cibid is mailing me out a a replacement 5 pack and told me to keep any that were not infected. Thanks guys and or gals for your info. I have completed the regiment suggested for Freezer-fridge-Freezer and will be letting them set at room temp for a while. I plan on disgarding the damaged sticks and keep the remaining serpearted in a nother humi till I see no other infest.
