How to get the best price on cigars?

Hello to all:

I have a question. If a person was continually buying the same box of cigars on a regular basis, and will be continually doing the same, whats the best method to get the best price on a continual basis for a steady customer.
They dont come up on bids to often, the type and size I want. Any suggestions?
I tried the local B and Ms and they ask me how much I want to spend and they look like a brick hit them in the face when I tell them, how much they are on line, they say "impossible"
I am hopeing to do a bit better then the popular places on line.
What I buy on a continual basis are the rocky patel vintage 90s,s in churchill and in petite corona.
I find myself buying about a box of each a month.
Any suggestions. ?

Much regards Jerry

Cigars, Cigar Information and where to find Premium Cigars, Discounted Cigars and even Cheap Cigars - Comparison Shopper

Don't know if you've found this site or not

Click on comparison shopper and it will give you prices of a ton of cigars from a bunch of retailers. You get a pretty good cross section of prices

Now this is not all inclusive but its a pretty good idea of the price across the board.

Its updated I think every week or so so it stays pretty current..

Also sign up for the online shops mailing list and some allow a spot to sign up for certian cigars to go on sale to be notified.

Good luck.

generally your local B&M will never be able to match/beat the prices available online.

Very true, depending on the state you live in(taxes) and you are a regular customer, they can get very close to online prices. If they get close enough, I'll give them my business in order to support them.
It sometimes depends on the cigar as well

Re: How to get the best price on cigars?

Once you have a knowledge of what cigar you like and compare pricing across the board you will have enough info to base your purchases on. I have a few sources I always use and pretty much know their pricing before pulling the trigger.

I also like the RP Vintages and I have found that the seconds smoke the same. They just look a bit off. You could try a bundle of those on Cbid and see for yourself. Then you could mix and match the seconds--for everyday use-- and the firsts for sharing or whatever.

Re: How to get the best price on cigars?

I got like 20 diff online retailers book marketed and I always check between the different companies.

Also, some time you can get 5 packs and other deals cheaper than boxes! For example, you can get 2x 10 packs of 5 Vegas Miami for like $60.00 when they normally sell boxes of them for $120.00+

Theres tons of deals like this.

What cigar is it? I can see if I can find any good deals!

to this. Been smoking RP seconds for along time and to my tastes there is no difference,,,just price and looks.

You learned a very valuable marketing trick,,,sometimes you can buy more for less by buying the 5 paks instead of the box or bundle.

Re: How to get the best price on cigars?

Holts had petit coronas (5 pk 90's and 5 pk 92's) for $30. So you could get basically a free box (without the box) of 92's for the same price as a box of them regularly ($120).

Re: How to get the best price on cigars?

Of course there's no way most B&Ms can match the prices of Internet sites. The playing field is not at all level. But you also get benefits from a top-quality shop you'll never get on-line, like the assurance of cigars being kept at proper temperatures and humidity level, a place to smoke and the opportunity to try smokes by purchasing them individually.
