I left between 1/8" and 1/16" around the boards to allow for some expansion but one of them was cut too close, when I started seasoning them last night it warped a little under the pressure. Not a big deal it is still good.
Great Job on the Humi! I am currently doing the same thing. Right now I have sanded it down and will stain / poly it shortly. It needed a good sanding.

So you left space in between the spanish cedar? I didnt think it expanded like other wood? But I of course am probably wrong! How much space?

Not between the spanish cedar planks, as a total. 1/16" to 1/8" along the top and at each end. The boards float so as they expand they move everything out.

Cool Re: This weekends project. A New Humidor

Really nice job on the humidor, Did you make the complete thing from scratch or did you use a china cabinet to modify into a humidor??
I have been trying to find something like that myself to turn into a humidor but am having a hard time finding something in raw material that is not painted or have finish on it.
Not to mention finding Spanish cedar that is not to over priced to buy by the board foot.
Did you get a good price on the cedar and can you get me a phone number to the shop you bought it from??
I would appreciate it if you could get me a number to call about the cedar.

Great humidor again.
