Ah... that may be a good point! Do Fuente's have excessive tar? I never noticed but I smoke very slowly to avoid tar...

This must have been where I first heard it...
Actually Urbi MOST maduros are dyed from what I've been told. I don't know how you tell but I do know that the General Rep told me all General's are and he claimed that all Fuente's were as well. It was posted by Madurofan on Cigar.com - Habano Wrapper? I just dont know if it was our Madurofan...

It wouldn't have been ink. To be real, half the guys on the forums exaggerate. Maybe your friend had someone play a joke on him, but let me repeat. Fuente has never dyed their cigars. If you can get to the DR, I can get you into the Fuente factory.

I do agree that it could have been excessive tar as well. That does happen with the King B and Cuban Belicoso as well.

What about the Ashton Aged Maduro? Or cigars rolled in Tampa? I would love to go to the factory, and appreciate the offer but I don't see me getting to the DR anytime soon... ![]()

Re: "Maduro", when it's really "Oscuro"?
I would think that dye processing would leave an uneven color to the leaves. Oliva and Perdomo maduros seem pretty evenly colored, and I wouldn't suspect dye there. Plus, their maduros are delicious, and you just can't fake delicious.

I think the point of dying is to get the even color...
