Oliva Serie V Lancero

This is the 6th or 7th cigar I have smoked now and the first lancero.

The best draw out of all the cigars I had too good actually and tons and tons of smoke. I think the most smoke I got out of any cigar as well. I was at the hudson valley cigar bar, and I just filled up the place. The problem I had just becoming an ex-cigarette smoker was since the draw was so easy, I ended up inhaling by mistake on one draw - first time i ever did that - OUCH...will never do that again.

Very nice cigar, very smooth, great burn, I am not sure how to describe the taste to be honest, I am not that advanced yet, my palette is not there yet, but it tasted good enough for me to pick up another one and I would definitely recommend it to someone new to cigars. I paid $6 and change for it.

Keep your eyes open on the Monster. They often have a box of 36 for $110.00. That's only $3 per.

Re: Oliva Serie V Lancero

I was just looking at the thread below asking about comparing the G to the V and people were saying the V is full bodied and a lot stronger then the G

I did not realize that when i picked it up.

I was able to smoke it no problems, and it did not bother my stomach or knock me it out, maybe because I just came off smoking cigarettes not sure.

My question will I be able to smoke other heavy full body cigars as well? I wanted to try a Partagas Black Label, but from what I understand those are one of the heaviest smokes out there is that true?

Re: Oliva Serie V Lancero

I agree. I have only smoked a handful of V's and I do not find them full bodied. My definition of a full bodied smoke would be a BBF or a JdN Antano.

so then i probably would not be able to handle a Partagas Black Label yet?

it is $9 and change here I hate to waste my money if it might be too strong for me, what would be a good step up? to try next?

I have never had a Party Black Label so I can't comment but I'm sure someone will chime in.

My wife made fun of me for smoking a "Rhett Butler" looking cigar. Unsurprisingly, this did not deter me.

I'll have to get back to you on that, I have one resting in the humi that I'll smoke soon.

I don't find them to be that strong, more medium to full and full flavored. They aren't the a**kickers the advertising copy portrays them to be. I have quite a few in my humi right now. If you'll pm me your address I'll send you a couple to try.

Re: Oliva Serie V Lancero

I smoke the Partagas Black Clasicos fairly often. I smoke cigarettes too, so it took me most of a year to get out of the habit of trying to inhale my cigars, but now that I have I'm much better able to enjoy the stronger cigars. I really like the Clasicos. They have tons of flavor, but aren't strong on the nicotine. The Prontos are good too, for when you don't have much time.

Just don't inhale them and you'll do just fine.

The Partagas Black is not stronger then the V, and at $9, which is $3 more then you paid for the V, its not worth that price either. Get one and try it but I would take the V ten times out of ten over the Black.
