Here is my suggestion

Under the 9th amendment to the constitution of the United States of America I have a right to Smoke this cigar.
Under the 2nd amendment to the constitution of the United States of America I have a right to carry a gun.
Under the 1st amendment to the constitution of the United States of America I have the right to tell you to "Piss OFF"
I choose to exercise my rights because I have fought to defend them. Now PISS OFF.

while smoking a LFD double ligero maduro chisel i went down the street to watch the ceremony taking place to the demolition of an old shopping center. this is the first step in building a new updated and more attractive shopping area. my next door neighbor and i went. he has kids and doesnt smoke
i picked a good spot about 45 min before the building was supposed to come down. ten minutes later the mayor gave a speech. so did the developer, some councilmen, the leader of the demolition team... yadda yadda yadda.....

by they time they shut up (way late btw) i was almost down to a nub on the cigar and this lady with her kids steps in front of me to watch the building demolition. im ok with that. im tall. its all good; she is short. about 5 minutes later she turns around and says "can you not smoke that here? i have a 3 month old"
i retorted:
we are outside. there are no laws or statutes in this area that prevent me from smoking here. you are just as capable of moving as i am. if you dont like it, walk away quietly like anyone in this crowd may have already done.

she looked at me funny and kept standing there.

I first heared my favorite response at a local shop from a friend of mine while we were inside hanging out one winter afternoon. A lady came in and waved her hand in front of here nose while making a disturbed looking face & said, "It stinks in here."

Without missing a beat the guy behind the counter said, "Weird, I didn't smell anything until you came in."

I modify this to meet my needs when and where I encounter a rude person...usually female. Shuts em right up!

Act like you can't hear them, then either wait for them to tap you on the shoulder, or look at them when you feel it's the right time, and while they're waving their hands in anger and shouting, blurt out "I'm deaf, asshole!". To do it properly you must be able to say it like a real deaf person though.

I'd imagine it would stop them in their tacks.

Hi Folks,

I once had a crazed woman try to pull my Ser Jacopo Rubino Canadian from my mouth (pipe). I held on and would have till my teeth broke.

With cigars I've twice been asked (outside) why I wanted to add to the air pollution and my response was

"Do you drive a car?"

You folks have some good responses that I'll try to remember should the occasion arise.
