If his device is giving him a temp readout of 69.4 degrees he likely has a digital hygrometer. I know analog hydro's don't read out the decimal place nor temps ![]() Rev. |

Re: New to the Club
Even if it is digital it still needs to be tested for accuracy. I would venture to guess that about 1 out of 1,000 digitals are accurate when purchased.

However, I have a Western Caliber III that I never tested and it's dead accurate. I know because it reads out the exact humidity of my beads and the same temps as my house thermometer. Rev. |

All I can say Rev is that you are fortunate that your unit is spot on. You can find many posts here about the accuracy (or lack thereof) of digital units.

Re: New to the Club
I am going to head on over to my local Cigar shop and see what they have to offer when I am done work. In the time being I am going to salt test my tester. What are proper conditions that a humidor should support? like temp and humidity.

Re: New to the Club
In my humidor I had several cigars in plastic bags. Is it safe to remove them from there bags and just leave them exposed? The bags are those plastic wraps many cigars come in from the local shops.
