I'm in trouble no matter what I do so the cigars are a distraction from the other stuff.

This is a funny thread!! I strapped on my stuff from the closet many years ago and haven't looked back.
Lifes too short, I bust it every week and as long as the bills are paid WTF. I'm lucky as my current wife could care less what I spend on smokes

In an attempt to make life easier, I set up accounts with vendors in my sons name and deliveries are sent to him.......

Has anyone else had to go to this extreme.

The Visa is in the wifes name, so when I order she knows. She's cool with it because after I pay the mortgage, I give her more than I plan on spending on my next order to put on the card. It's sorta like I'm buying with my cash, but the visa card balance keeps getting lower!!

I tell her that she spends more on hair and makeup products than i do on cigars. As you can see by my avatar i don't need hair products (or makeup).

My wife has been surprisingly calm about my new hobby. I really try to hold my purchases down- went a little crazy lately. I always smoke outside, brush my teeth and shower before I get into close contact....so far!

Untraceable cash money at the local B and M is priceless!

I get kidded by my buddies when they ask why I dont have a new HDTV, and I reply that my wife is into hot rods (our '92 5.0 Mustang that I believe she has more fun than I do, and Ive had for over 15 years) and motorcycles.....so I pick my battles carefully and so far she has not given me any grief. Could change once I get my coolidor up and running and decide on a particular stick or 2 upon which to base my first box purchase.

Off topic, how do you put a saying or whatever under the line of all your posts...I could not find the signature.

I get this crap all the time, but not from a spouse.... it's from my Mother. As I am still a teenager and have no job, I still live with my parents. Lately, I've been buying less video games(something else she hates) and more cigars because they are FAR more therapeutic as of late. And, with the way things are going it's every blue moon that I get ANY money. And, to me the obvious purchase is going to be some tasty smokes. Something that relieves stress and let's me unwind for the next day.

She hates my Cigar smoking habit, she says to me all the time:

Why don't you just roll up all that money and smoke it?
Don't you care that you're killing yourself?
DON'T YOU DARE BUY ANY CIGARS WITH THAT MONEY!

She practically treats me like a child sometimes, there has been times when she's threatened me with grounding or trying to take MY MONEY away. Which is absolute BULLSHIT, I should be able to spend MY money however I want.

I swear to God, if I marry someone who won't accept my hobbies for what they are I will become a cigar smoking, video game playing, hermit.

It's not just me either, my Dad gets a lot of flak too. But, I think it is bullcrap that I have to put up with this, sometimes the fights with her are so intense I feel terrible for even buying cigars(which is one of the few things I never seem to have buyers remorse over) which is absolutely f**king sh*tty and petty. Don't I have to enjoy the right to some kind of solstice and peace in such a mad and terrifying world?

And I know the old sentiment, "My House, My Rules" but I haven't violated any rules man... I smoke where I am supposed to and I am a good Son. I help out when I can, and when I don't I feel bad. I just wish I had a bit more understanding and respect from her on this subject.

I feel your pain little brother. I moved out when I was 18 because I wanted to live my life under my rules even if I made mistakes,,,and I did but they were my mistakes and I lived my life the way I wanted to. You have to understand that when you are under their roof it is their "rules" and if you can get your Mom to cut you some slack then try to compromise. If she still won't relent then consider moving out and in with friends and live your life how you want to. Living w/parents and having hard feelings doesn't work out,,,trust me.
