Re: How good are the Davidoff and Ashton?

All of the Ashtons are very good cigars, but not worth the price to me.

Davidoffs on the other hand, are very nice treats when you can afford them. They present a level of complexity I rarely find in non-Cuban cigars. They're mild but they're excellent, excellent cigars.

Re: How good are the Davidoff and Ashton?

I definitely recommend the VSG. I just ordered a box of belicoso #1 for my new fridgador... I'm siked! This is one of my favorite cigars. It is considered full bodied, but it is not nearly as full as some others. They are just a real treat...

The Davidoff is really a totally different cigar. Very mild, with little complexity. For me, something like that for the price is a huge waste. When I spend that kind of money on a cigar I want something _interesting_.

Re: How good are the Davidoff and Ashton?

I am not a big fan of Davidoff, the ones I have tried are too mild.

My favorite Ashton are the VSG. Famous has them on Cigar Monster from time to time for about $200/bx 24 for the smaller sizes. They are definitely worth the money.

Another good Ashton is the Aged Maduro. Has a nice green apple flavor to it. They are hard to find on sale but they come up from time to time in the low $100's for a box.

Re: How good are the Davidoff and Ashton?

I went to Barclay Rex today in the city and picked up an Ashton VSG Corona Gorda , was going to get an Illusion but they were all out.

I also picked up a La Riqueza No.1 while I was there.

Barclay Rex was awesome I was talking to the guy for about 30 minutes, extremely nice and very helpful. Out of all the the local B&M I been to the first place that actually had someone who enjoyed talking about cigars, and their prices were reasonably, the Ashton VSG was $13, compared to where I saw it by me for $14 and change. Even their Padron 1964 and other specials were reasonably priced compared to what I saw in other places. I expected a lot more money for being in NYC

Going outside to smoke it now be back in about 60-90 minutes

The Avo 787 is a very good smoke!

Barclay Rex has also been known to have some "special" cigars from time to time, you just gotta ask....but they ain't cheap....and I don't mean CC's either.

Well just finished..no doubt about it...one great smoke!!!!!!! One thing I noticed it has a very nice smell to it while smoking it

Very relaxing but too expensive to smoke everyday

I was expecting to get hit with a nicotine buzz because I heard they are very strong but i feel fine

I guess being an ex-Camel smoker makes me have a strong tolerance

I should have checked how much they were selling those while I was there...

I am looking forward to trying La Riqueza No.1, I never had anything by Don Pepin

I like the Illusion in the VSG. Davidoff is an over price average cigar. I you want to buy davidoff - try a macanudo - atleast you don't get screwed on the price.
