How good are the Davidoff and Ashton?

Are they really worth the money?

I heard the VSG are really nice? I saw the VSG for about $15 at my local B&M, I have not seen any Davidoff at my local B&M

My next door neighbor, who has seen me smoke cigars mentioned when he smokes cigars his favourites are Davidoff, but he hardly smokes them nowadays but he says Davidoff are just so good. That if he is going to smoke a cigar he has to have either an Ashton or davidoff.

So my qeustion is are they really that good?

And which line should I try if I was going to treat myself?

Re: How good are the Davidoff and Ashton?

Every Davidoff I've smoked has been very mild. They're incredibly smooth, but very mild. I'd rather smoke one of the more medium or medium-full AVO cigars that are made by for Avo Uvezian by Hendrik Kelner at Davidoff. AVOs are also quite smooth.

Ashton's are whole 'nother story. The VSG's are excellent and definitely have a full flavor profile. They also remain very smooth with all that flavor. I definitely think it's worth picking up a VSG to try and see if you like them.

I have had one AVO which was not bad, the Classic no, 3 I think it was, very mild but smooth, for the price I thought it was overrated.

Which AVO would you recommend for something with a little bit more complexity and medium bodied to full flavor? XO maybe?

Maybe I will try the VSG though first.

Go for the VSG, I haven't had one but man, every time I go into a B&M I am drawn to them. However, the price is a bit of a turn off...but they do look and smell oh-so-lovely.

Couple of VSG's I like are the Bellicoso #1 and the Enchantment. Can't go wrong with either one.

+1 On the Enchantment. You will not go wrong with it.

If you are looking to try a Davidoff and want a fuller bodied smoke, try the Davidoff Millennium Blend.

Avo's are good smokes, I prefer the Campaneros (Limited '09), the Domaine and the Signature lines myself.

In that price range, I'd rather reach for a Cuban.

To me there is no Ashton worth the money except for the VSG.

The Davidoff Millenium is medium body but complex flavor. Very good cigar. I like the Ashton VSG Illusion but they are all good.

Re: How good are the Davidoff and Ashton?

A lot will depend on your personal taste profile and what you like in a cigar. Ashton Cigars to me are a very good cigar but a little on the high side when you consider buying singles. If you really like this brand then buying by the box is probably your smartest move if money is a concern. Waiting for them to go on sale on different sites ( Monster ) or other online sites might be a good option for you.

As for the Avo, look at the 787 line.

Re: How good are the Davidoff and Ashton?

I love the vsg wizards. never been willing to buy a davidoff becuase of the price tag, I have no problems buying the rare and special reserve cigars like the Pam 40s and 80s and the opus and anejos for premium prices but the Davidoff are just a regular line, super premium yes but not a reserve of rare cigar. maybe Ill give them a try.
