CI's New shipping?

I ordered the Sunday surprise and expected it to show up UPS today. The UPS man came today but not with cigars. I went to check my tracking # and found out that they are now shipping with the USPS. Anyone know why? Is this only for free shipping items? I HATE the USPS and I may have to quit placing orders with CI because of this. The postal service can take weeks for a package to be delivered, they get "lost" and more often then not the tracking #'s are no good!

i usually get my USPS packages faster than UPS and usually with less damage. Oh and its cheaper.

To my address, USPS is twice as fast and costs about 20% less on average... Never had a damaged/lost parcel. Most sites will let you deselect USPS and choose UPS though. Not sure about CI. Good luck

I'm with these guys, USPS is always quicker to me. It usually take UPS a while before I get anything from them.

I actually like USPS the best...Priority is usually 3 days max anywhere in the country sometimes I get it in 2 days

Same for me every time my cigars are shipped up UPS they take 7 days, when they are mailed USPS 2 to 3 day without fail.

USPS averages 3 days anywhere in the lower 48 with priority shipping, plus the are giving bigger shippers bulk rates now, trying to boost that huge loss in profits they are being raked over the coals for.

ditto on USPS, I love them! Faster and easier.
Not too long ago I ordered some sticks from CI shipped via UPS. I live in an apartment and have to sign their clipboard to receive packages.
I had to go out of town and instead of leaving it on my back porch (which is gated and not visible) like the note I wrote on the door said for them to do, they tried to deliver it three times, then sent it back to CI.

I even called on the first day of failed delivery and asked for them to leave it at the leasing office for me..got a "no". Then I asked for them to hold it at the loading station so I could come by and pick it up and got a "no". whew... ok i'm done

Gotta chime in with all the other USPS fans. Last 2 UPS shipments I got from CI were mangled, plus 5-7 days enroute. Ordered from them over the weekend, first time in weeks, and was so happy to see my smokes going out USPS this time.

Like everyone else has said, "faster, cheaper, better".

Ya, they aren't any good at running the business side of things, but they deliver mail pretty well. Cheaper, faster and on Saturdays. My choice is usually USPS Priority.

I've noticed that Daily Deals tend to go USPS but orders including other items, even if included with Daily Deal items, tend to go UPS. That said, a couple of my Daily Deal-only parcels came UPS. I prefer UPS' tracking system -- the post office tracking is sorely lacking specific information like, oh, say, when the package will actually arrive.

I have never had a problem with USPS either. I also think if you did, CI would send out another package to make it right.

If you live close close to CI where they are shipped from UPS may be faster. Like all the others above USPS is way fasteer for me, 2 days max, UPS I have to wait atleast 7 days...
