A Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 and I have to be honest I was not crazy about it.

But I enjoy his other RP Vintage 1990 lines, specifically the petit corona and Robusto

I have to say I noticed a big difference in flavor compared to the other vitolas. Not a lot of flavor.

I just did not enjoy it as much. Also by the time I was done it hurt my jaw.

Not sure if all 60 ring guage is like this but I think from now on sticking to 50-54 ring gauge or less

I think it depends on the stick. some cigars are blended to have large ring gauges so you get the actual flavor the blender intended. Tha being said I love a large ring gauge. The 5Veags Miami Knuckle is one heckof a cigar. It is probably just a personal thing though.

I love the LGC Serie R cigars, they can get pretty big. I've that found the bigger they are, the better they taste! The belicoso is my favorite vitola of them all.

I tend to like the smaller rings better...considering I'm 6'3" and 300lb is that just wrong?

The larger the ring gauge, the less wrapper taste there is and the more tasteless volado filler they use. That would explain it.

I wish people would recognize the perfection of the 42 ring gauge; half coronas, petite coronas, coronas, lonsdales...the greatest sizes.

Dude that's just right. Speaking of smaller rings the Cohiba red dot is my daily smoke.

The El Baton 60 ring gauge was very flavorful! I'd try that one for a big ring stick. Otherwise, I've been on a small-ring kick. I think they pack more concentrated flavor.

hey Mike. It did look like it was giving you a tough time. It's possible they may have been a little too wet. The smokes kept burning uneven throughout. By the way, I had a great time at the bar just having a drink, talking about our hobby and smoking cigars.

+1
Anything over a 52 ring starts to feel/taste superfluous to me.
