Re: Herfing the car?
Personally I think there is only one option to dealing with the smell...don't smoke in the car! I will be in the same situation once winter falls here. Traditionally I don't smoke in the winter, only when I'm down south on holidays. It kills me but my stock goes up and my cc's get a bit more age on them so its not all bad.

Re: Herfing the car?
Ummm... Smoke in the house? Get a place with a garage? Build a small shed with a kerosene space heater? Open a cigar bar in your neighborhood?
I've had some success with Oust although I don't know if it's sufficient for regular smoking.

Re: Herfing the car?
Im am digging cigars agin....but no way in the car. I guess I am fortunate to live in the south.......and being from MI, it has to get pretty cold for me to not be willing to smoke out by the pool.
Im feeling my BOTL from the North!!!

Don't lop us all together, I'm from Michigan and I can't stand the cold... prefer Arizona so much...
A man cave, is an interesting idea (goes off to plot). |

Re: Herfing the car?
I can't really help with the smell in the car, but I recently made a discovery that came about from smoking in my own car. Germ-X hand sanitizer gel does a remarkable job of removing the smoke odor from your hands, if that's something that bothers you. Just thought I would pass that along.

I love smoking while driving. You can place a fabric softener sheet (scented of course) under each seat and it will help alleviate the smell. I have non-smokers who get in my car and can not tell I even smoke in it.

Re: Herfing the car?
Ehh I see a lot of people get distracted while driving, and I have never seen anyone smoke a cigar while driving, however I've seen a ton of people have accidents because of smoking cigarettes while driving so... I'm on the side of being cautious and careful.

Re: Herfing the car?
I smoke cigars and drive all the time. It's a morning ritual. In the winter it's about the only place I can do it, unless I want to go to the B&M and blow some money.
Of course, I have an old Detroit-metal beater, so I could care less if it smells like smoke. I can think of a few things worse than cigar smoke that the interior could smell like... Some day I am either going to install an outdoor hot-tub so I can smoke there in the winter, or get a space heater and just go to the shed to smoke. |

Re: Herfing the car?
I have been detailing cars for almost 5 years now. The only thing you can do to keep the smoke smell out is to A: smoke with your windows open and eat ash for lunch or B: shampoo your carpets, headliner, dashboard, and rubber weather-stripping regularly. Don't use the re-circulated air option if using air-conditioning, especially if you don't have an in-cabin micro-filter. I try not to smoke in my car that has a roof. =D ...TRY being the key word...

The hot-tub is a good idea, but you could also just convert a room into an economical smoking chamber. |

Re: Herfing the car?
there's this stuff around cleveland called ZorbX that's odorless and eliminates all odors. I'm not sure if it's a reigonal thing and only sold here, but it works when I smoke in the car, gets rid of any evidence that i've been smoking. I do have leather seats, not sure if it makes a difference, but still it's great stuff.
https://www.zorbx.com/newsite/odor_remover_purchase.asp Also the garage w/ a space heater and a couple buddies makes smoking in the winter a hell of a lot more enjoyable.
