Second, to come on a forum and bash some who is passionate for cigars, just like we all are, is just plain childish. Sorry but the person who started this thread and who has participated in the bashing are acting like kids. Grow up... Act like a BOTL.

Third, I don't care what marketing he has done. I love the Nub brand and have a few boxes in my humidor now. That is my personal prefrence, i did even know about the marketing, till months after i started smoking the nubs. I happen to be in a local shop one day and saw them and grab a couple and loved them.

Finally, if i go into a store and pick i don't know, a Davidoff, and smoke it and hate, do i go on a bash Davidoff, no i just don't buy that cigar again. Come on guys this is so retarded i dont even know why i replied.

Take care

Probably not the best way to come into a forum without at least introducing yourself and then saying your peace. I get what you are saying but the timing couldn't be worse.

You're preaching to the chior and have seen things that upset me to no end. I made the mistake of doing this on a forum along time ago where I was new and saw a thread that had members attacking each other right from the get about something really juvenile. I stepped in and said how shameful their actions were and I immediately became the new target regardless of the fact that I have been smoking cigars for 40 years or what I knew. Sometimes discretion really is the better form of valor and picking the right time and how to enter a forum is key.

Having said that, welcome to the place and relax and have a cigar and get a feel of the place. There are some pretty good people here.

Here's a thread that all members (new members especially) should read. The Tips for New Members can be very helpful.

New Members... FYI (please read)

Edit: Especially since I took the time to compile it!

Re: A Rant/Convo starter about Nub,Cain, and Sam L.

Thanks to Ed (ShamWow) I got my first Nub, the Connecticut variety. I was aware of Nub (how could I not be with the marketing?), but didn't really pay attention to the marketing; other than to notice it was featured in the CI catalogs.

Because of this thread I decided to smoke it the other night. I'm generally not a big fan of Conn. shade and other really light wrappers. Pre light, as I was looking over the cigar, checking out the wrapper, external appearance, and what-not, I saw and smelled this wonderful, sweet, dark tobacco core.

I really enjoyed the cigar. The blend was quite flavorful, and there was a gracious plenty of smoke volume. The size was also a nice change of pace from the belicosos and toros I usually smoke. Whether or not the "sweet spot" portion of the leaves used to make it caused it to be so flavorful, I don't know. Regardless, it's a quality cigar that stands on its own merits.

Can somebody please help me understand something:

1) This thread HAD pretty much run its course, it was about dead.
2) The above was this clown's FIRST POST
3) He blatently talks down to and disrespects not only myself (Been here since early 0 but also the other BOTLS who have "participated" in the "bashing".
4) He has NO IDEA how things go around here
-the kicker- (5) HE'S TOLD TO KICK BACK AND RELAX AND ENJOY HIMSELF???? ARE YOU ****ING SERIOUS?? HE COMES IN HERE AND DOES ALL THE ABOVE SHIT AND HE RECEIVES THE WELCOME WAGON.

I really considered letting bigons be bigons with this and not even saying anything but that is just bullshit. A person with ZERO posts to come in and talk like that about people who have been here for YEARS?? Come on If I'm wrong on this then I'm really sorry and I've apparently wasted 2 1/2 years around here.

First, I didn't realize a thread is dead after one day.

Yes, it was his first post, and if you go back a bit, he did he say that 'he understood what he had done was not the right approach' and I took that as an apology.

I have been here alot longer than most who post here regularly, April 2006, and I know how things work around here. I also know that this forum's philosophy has always been (and hopefully always will be... forgiving) when someone makes a mistake. Maybe when we see a post from a member, who doesn't know "how things work", we can point them in the right direction, as I did in a previous post.

I'm one of the older members who gave him the "Welcome Wagon", and I don't take it back. A member's reputation is based on how he acts towards his fellow members as well as how he handles a situation, when he is in the wrong.

Nofeardiver, your apology is good enough for me; and I hope that you enjoy yourself on our forum, and hope that you participate, get involved, and make some friends!

Speaking as a member that has been here since early '06, I will say that I agree with everything Dave posted. The way around here has always been to help the newer members along with gentle nudges. Those who wish to become contributing members will take the advice and fit right in. Those who do not will usually find a pretty rocky road here. It seems to me that this brother has acknowledged this and he has posted a public apology. What more could you ask of someone?

I agree with Dave and Donnie and that is why I said what I did when I was new to a forum. Dom, if you are paying attention you would have read what NofearDiver said after I posted and his response was sincere if not apologetic. I don't know why you would have an issue with somebody coming in and being remorseful about what they did and still try to take them to the woodshed? If you think you have wasted time here I don't know what to tell you do except look for something that you think merits a better change for you. I think most of the people here are empathetic enough to accept this new brother and carry on with talking about cigars and such. I have been around other forums that are too accepting of launching attacks and calling people out regardless of an apology and that doesn't set well with me.

Yo no problem I can accept your appology and I guess I owe one myself for going off.

I was just feeling like a member with 4 posts was getting precedent over me and that just bothered me, either way i hope its water under the bridge and I hope you figure out that things usually arent so heated around here.

Good deal and that goes to show everyone that no matter if you have 4 posts or 3,000 posts nobody is better than anyone else on here. We just have people who have more posts than others but that doesn't equate true cigar experience. Well done, Dom.
