Is it magic or something...?

It seems everytime that I smoke a cigar that I enjoy...say a robusto of something or other...the 1st 2/3 kind of fly by very quickly, as does the time. Then, I notice that I'm down to the last 1/3 or so and I think "Darn! I'm not ready for this one to be over with yet!". My mind being what it is, I quickly forget my concern...until I look up 20 minutes later and I'm still puffing on that last, little, stub of a smoke! Divine Intervention? Yogic Pranayama? Magic?

Smoke larger cigars <.< (that you enjoy), and see what happens.

lol! I hear ya Rod! I smoke robies to get a feel for the blend. If I like it in the robusto, I may step it up to a larger Toro or Churchill.

The way I see it, it's like the power-band on a car given a certain gear-ratio. Longer gears, takes longer to hit the sweet-spot, but you'll stay in that sweet-spot longer! Shorter gears give you better acceleration characteristics (depending on what car), but you find that maybe it leaves you wanting more!

I guess I explained myself poorly...again.

What I was really trying to comment on was how satisfying cigars in general actually are...when I think I've only got a few minutes left...somehow that magically extends into 20-30 more minutes of smoking enjoyment!

I feel sorry for the cigarette smokers of the world!

I got you. I have noticed the same thing. How the first two thirds fly by, and you think that last third is going to fly by as well, but then it somehow, perhaps by the grace of God, takes much longer than the first two thirds combined.

My mind being what it is, I have tried to rationalize this. I imagine it has something to do with me smoking away at the first two thirds, and as I get down the smoke getting hotter as it has less length of cigar to travel and cool down. I figure I must change my mothod of smoking and slow down to experience a cooler smoke which makes that last third take much longer.
