Re: How much uneven burn before correcting?
I usually wait for 1/4 inch to do anything. At that point, I roll the cigar so the unburnt side is facing up, then point the cigar so it's sloped towards the ground. This way, the burn travels towards the unburnt part of the cigar. I just slow down on it for a few minutes and usually this will correct the burn. If it doesn't though, and it gets to about 1/2 an inch, I torch it even.

Re: How much uneven burn before correcting?
Its funny. With my everyday smokes, this has rarely ever happened. I guess that is one reason these are my everyday smokes. With my one "experimentation" cigar each day, its with those I get the uneven burns, unraveling and other maladies. Makes a person like me say why bother, but I have a crapload of the experimental ones resting, and I dont think I will buy anymore till I get through them all.
I havent purchased or tried any padrons or acids as of yet. Only thing on my list, plus one expensive cigar such as an opus x, to see what its all about. Much regards Jerry |

Re: How much uneven burn before correcting?
I get sick of explaining why,
but unburnt side down. (yeah, yeah heat rises, but oxygen feeds combustion.) |
