Box Pressed Cigars

Why? I myself prefer them, but I'm not sure what it is about them that changes anything. I find that it makes the draw much easier, but maybe I'm full of it. Any opinions?

I also prefer them, I haven't noticed any draw improvements, but they fit in my mouth better, and don't roll away when you set them down.

One other thing I've noticed is that they don't tend to unravel quite as often when you cut them. I always have a big problem with that with all of the non-box pressed in my stash.

Re: Box Pressed Cigars

I like "slightly" box pressed cigars that are fit into the box and gain a slightly square shape, a lot more than the truly rectangular ones that are specially-molded into a square shape.

I personally don't really care for them, I like my cigars to be roooound! I have also noticed the draw to be easier on them. If you have a dull or cheap cutter they can be more difficult too!

I like the box-pressed because I like the feel of the cigar in my hand.

Re: Box Pressed Cigars

I like box press because it probably means my lovely once round cubans have been stuffed in a nice tight box for sometime and have become pressed but more exciting they have become "aged"

It's about 6 one way, or 1/2 dz. the other for me... As long as they taste good, they could be triangle, quadrilateral, whatever.

I agree with you. Never really cared about shape, just taste. I tend to try more round cigars, often robusto, but that's just because they catch my eye more.

As an aside, I love your avatar! Seriously made me crack up! Yes, I am easily amused...

Re: Box Pressed Cigars

I don't really like them except for the fact that they tend not to roll off my ashtray and burn stuff as often lol! Flavor is what counts though. I've been using razor blades to cut my cigars lately because my cutter is a POS. ahaha

Re: Box Pressed Cigars

I actually like them. They stay pretty organized in my humidor also. I can't really say the taste is altered that much verses non box pressed. But I do appreciate the look.

Re: Box Pressed Cigars

Box pressed is my preference as well. Yes, I too have noticed the draw on box pressed cigars has a higher consistency of excellence than regular cigars. It's extremely rare for me to get a tight box pressed, it's happened a couple of times but I get far more tight round sticks.

I also prefer the look and feel. They are uber classy and feel great to hold, more natural.

I dig the box press...it's a very distinctive look and they feel more secure when I'm holding them
