What happened to Cugene??

Does anyone know what happened to Argenese's Cugene Cigar?? I heard that they were not making them anymore. I really liked the maduro's and have purchased several bundles of them. Maybe I should stock up.

Re: What happened to Cugene??

I haven't heard anything about that. My Local that I go to most of the time doesn't carry Argenese. But I do think the Cugene was the best Argenese cigar I smoked.

Re: What happened to Cugene??

I agree. I did hear something that Gene and Joe had a falling out. I hope that's not the case. I enjoyed meeting them both at my B and M last November. Great guys. Maybe Cigar Man Andy might have some inside info for us???

I could see that because the few times I have meet Gene he seemed like the nicest guy, the time I meet Joe, well you know that old saying "if you can't say anything nice".

Re: What happened to Cugene??

Gene and Joe are splitting up and Alec Bradley is gonna pick up the Cugine line and make a more full bodied smoke out of it.

Just ordered 2 bundles of the maduro for dirt cheap of MMAO

I spoke with Joe last week. I may be reping his cigars as well. Gene no longer makes his cigars. They are now made by Alec Bradly. How ever, if you liked the Cugene, try the Arganese CL3. And the new Cugene is very good as well. Different, but good. I will keep you posted when Joey let's me know more. We are supposed to get together later this year in DC.

Re: What happened to Cugene??

Hey andy, arent there going to be 2 blends of cugene now?? I thought I watched an interview that there was going to be a fuller bodied one and a medium one. I could be completly wrong, it may have been different sizes.

Let us know any info you get.

Andy, thanks for the info. I knew you would know something about the situation. Keep us posted when you get an update on its release.

I do like the cl3 very much. Have a few in my humi now, great smoke.

Re: What happened to Cugene??

I really enjoyed the Conn Cugine by Arganese. i thought it was a flavorful cigar, more of mild to medium bodied cigar. The Maduro took me a while to warm up to. There was just something about it I just couldn't put my finger on it. It was quite unique.

Re: What happened to Cugene??

My B&M must have gotten bunk boxes of this cigar, because I see I'm the only one here who thinks this cigar died the quick, painful death it deserved.
